Divergence Eve in its two seasons is a show that really does make out far better in marathon form than in single disc form. This is a show that requires watching the episodes close together in order to put the pieces together and to see the larger narrative. I enjoyed it when I first saw it in its single disc release but the collected editions, even if you watch them in the half seasons that they are separately, really paints a very strong picture. The story is strong enough that you don’t even notice the minimal fanservice that’s there nor the way the women are all so top heavy in order to actually get you to watch it. Divergence Eve is a show that I can easily see myself coming back to every few years to take in and to see if there are even more little things and nuances that I might have missed. Divergence Eve is the “don’t judge a book by its cover” series that I recommend to anyone looking for something serious and intriguing.

You definitely can't judge this one by the cover. It really has an intriguing and well written sci-fi plot, once you get past the massive torpedo breasts and non-stop jiggling. And let's not forgot the horrible CGI. But overall it's an enjoyable show and well worth watching.

My comment for Divergence Eve is .. give it a chance.

When I first watched it I made it through the first 2 episodes before returning it to the shelf. But after some prompting I returned to it again many months later and this time stuck with it and found it was a good series with a reasonable plot and characters (if you look past the bouncing and the dodgy CG)

This is good to know. I may try to watch this release later this year. The artwork with this thinpak release looks very nice as well.

I'll back up Chris's statement on that one. I watched it over the course of a couple of weeks, and on top of that I underestimated the plot. After I was done the first thing I thought was "What the hell was that all about?"

I was very pleasantly surprised with this series when I watched the singles three years ago. Now you're making me want to follow your lead in re-watching it, something that I've been meaning to do for awhile now. Definitely not a show to simply dismiss as fanservice fluff just because of the artwork!

Definitely. It looks like CG straight out of a first-gen PSOne game. Aside from that, I enjoyed it, though I will have to rewatch it to get the full picture.

It's up there with Noein for having a hard science fiction background, and both seasons were well-written and entertaining despite the bad CGI and torpedo breasts.

This would be a buy for me with better CGI and human-shaped women, instead it was just an enjoyable rental.
