Re: [UK] Berserk movie trilogy

Unless if you find loads of mediocre 3DCG people flailing about rather hideous, in which case you should avoid it like the plague.
Mediocre is putting it nicely. :puke:

Re: [US] Laputa: Castle in the Sky

Yeah, Disney is really fumbling the Ghibli releases. I don't think I'm going to bother with waiting for them anymore -- three releases and they still haven't got one right despite the HUGE wait time...

Re: Fullmetal Alchemist - Brotherhood: Collection 1 (Blu-ray)

I can confirm this release has improved subtitles. They look great. Glad I upgraded.
First time i've heard this, could you post a pic so we can see for ourselves?
No pic, but I...

Re: Sentai Filmworks licenses tsuritama

So your problem is tsuritama not looking like the norm and it instead taking a different stylistic approach? I personally consider it a step forward to change up the norm, and I think that's what...

Re: Sentai Filmworks licenses tsuritama

I haven't seen anything about the show yet. What's such a step back about it?
Nothing really... just my tastes and how I see art in anime as being very high quality with lots of detail from...

Re: Discotek Media plans to release more Lupin movies and specials in the future

Ditto, it would be a smart movie considering no dvd release yet in the US.
But my understanding is that they've already passed on it for some reason (maybe too high a license fee?). It's...

Re: [US] Ouran High School Host Club

Wow, I was actually looking the other day for the cheapest price online on this box since the price went crazy and then this happens. Glad I didn't buy anything!

Re: Sentai Filmworks licenses K-ON! Season 2

It's distracting. I like subtitles to be edited into actual natural English that still fits with what the characters are actually saying. Not modified movie quotes.

Re: Sentai Filmworks licenses K-ON! Season 2

Was this really in the Bandai subs? I'm all for extremely liberally edited subtitles for the sake of tighter wording and making things easier for people's brains to parse even if compromises the...

Re: Sentai Filmworks licenses K-ON! Season 2

;)

---

What are the chances that Sentai could pick up the first series? Did Bandai retain their old licenses and will continue distributing them and merely just stopped producing new titles upon...

Re: Marvel Anime Solicitations

Yeah, X-Men has a lot of really good action animation.

The other Marvel series' are pretty awful unfortunately. I'm glad that X-Men managed to turn out great though.

Re: [HK] Patlabor: The Movie [ENG SUB]

Can anyone with this release (and/or Patlabor 2 HK) post a BDInfo reading and/or a bitrate graph to confirm whether or not this is a stripped down port of the JP release encode?

Re: Madoka Magica, Vol.1 (Blu-ray / DVD, Reg / LE)

Not in a good way. Like, black magic!

I'd honestly buy the LE if it had better fontwork on the packaging, but it looks very amateurish and as such...

Re: Madoka Magica, Vol.1 (Blu-ray / DVD, Reg / LE)

The fonts on that LE box are horrifying. Golden foil for extra tacky points too.

Hire a typographer, Aniplex.

Re: Battle Royale (Live-Action) (DVD, Blu-ray; Reg, LE)

Re: FUNimation Sues A.D. Vision, Sentai, Others for US$8 Million

I never said that, except for my poorly worded first post in a way. The debts should only be paid should a court of law rule that they should be paid, is my view.

Re: FUNimation Sues A.D. Vision, Sentai, Others for US$8 Million

Re: FUNimation Sues A.D. Vision, Sentai, Others for US$8 Million

I don't really care. Sentai Filmworks releases anime right, Funimation don't. If Sentai is in the wrong...
