Re: Bandai Entertainment will stop shipping anime to retailers in November

Amazon Canada would be a better source, if you don't mind paying closer to retail price. Amazon Canada often has a few stock of various Bandai titles long after they have gone out of print.

A few...

Re: Spider Riders V4 Riders To The Rescue (Vivendi Canada)

Can anyone confirm the aspect ratio of these Canadian DVD releases? the series was produced for widescreen, but it isn't clear what aspect ratio these DVD releases used.

Re: The OAVs/Omakes on R1 DVD Thread

A few you missed:
The Blu-Ray and DVD releases of Broken Blade were missing the picture dramas.
The DVD releases of Nadia, the Secret of Blue Water were missing the omakes.

Re: Viz Media 2012 Solicitations Thread

Lots of animated titles from Warner Bros. are been re-released on 20th November 2012, due to Warner Premiere closing down. So I expect the re-releases from Viz Media are related to similar brand or...

Amazon Canada recently added DVD releases for Blade and Wolverine:

Marvel Wolverine: Animated Series - $15.99 -...

Re: Fullmetal Alchemist - Brotherhood: Collection 1 (DVD)

The packaging is listed as a keepcase at DVD Empire, who just updated their details.

Much better than those flimsy eco style thinpaks used in last few parts.

Re: Fullmetal Alchemist - Brotherhood: Collection 1 (DVD)

Is the packaging a keepcase with slipcover? or just a bundle of thinkpaks with box cover?

Re: Fullmetal Alchemist - Brotherhood: Collection 1 (Blu-ray)

Are there any other changes to the discs? like improved subtitles?

Unfortunately there was a audio sync issue with one episode (See...

Just what we don't need, another company who doesn't care about quality. 9 - 10 episodes per disc, will not look good (especially on a larger screen), no matter how they try to excuse it.

Re: Any anime like the Guyver?

Sounds like the English version of Tekkaman Blade, which was called Teknoman.

Re: FUNimation Sues A.D. Vision, Sentai, Others for US$8 Million

That strategy doesn't sound surprising for ADV at all, and I hope Funimation wins. Remember how ADV cancelled NewType, and switched subscribers to a poor replacement (PiQ), that was spun off as...

Re: Birth (2004 release)

A very strange ending then, I was really hoping for some explanation of what happened. The characters mouths in the last sequence are clearly moving, so I expected to hear their dialog.

The older...

Re: Can someone explain me what happened?

Combo packs can be useful for people who have not upgraded to all Blu-Ray, and still have older DVD players around. So the movie/series can be played via any of their equipment. Also it allows people...

Re: FUNimation Announces More One Piece

Yes, I took this as a sign One Piece isn't selling as well, as I stated in earlier message.

Most anime series are much smaller (13-26 episodes), compared to One Piece. One Piece has long story arcs...

Any fans of the One Piece series of course, especially since Funimation will be stopping in the middle of a saga again.

Funimation's initial license of One Piece was 205 episodes, which were...

Re: FUNimation Announces More One Piece

No, not for a on-going series with over 500 episodes, and only 205 episodes released on DVD so far. If Funimation expected continued good sales of One Piece, they would license at least a complete...

Re: Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl - Sinnoh League Victors: Boxset 1

The Australian DVD releases of Sinnoh League Victors from Magna Pacific are cropped to 4:3, and NTSC to PAL conversions.

I expect the American DVD release will be in widescreen, like the previous...

Re: FUNimation Announces More One Piece

Do you mean the packaging or audio/video quality? I expect One Piece season 4 will be Blu-Ray/DVD bundles, in a DVD case with slipcover, just like Fairy Tail.

Re: FUNimation Announces More One Piece

Because Funimation seems to want to release all new titles on Blu-Ray if possible, even if not produced for HD. A good example is Fairy Tail, which bundles Blu-Ray/DVD, when the Blu-Ray is only an...

Re: FUNimation Announces More One Piece

I'm no longer convinced One Piece is selling well, since they only licensed 58 more episodes. It seems more like Funimation is waiting to see how well the next season will sell, before licensing even...
