Re: Episode 1

Chihayafuru's manga sales nearly quadrupled (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=4474857#post4474857) after the anime version began airing. The volume released in September, 2011, sold some...

Re: Episode 1

I suspect we'll see her again. The only other student on the train was Natsuki, so her presence makes me think she's more than just background scenery. (She's not the girl at the tackle store, is...

Re: Episode 1

I liked the subtle touch of Kaoru removing his glasses when approached by Ritsuko while they were sweeping the floor. The day before, of course, she told him how pretty, oops handsome, he is without...

Re: Episode 3

The lung capacity test in episode three is cribbed directly from Philip Kaufman's excellent film The Right Stuff including the nurse and the clock. I doubt JAXA still uses a test originally designed...

Kadokawa has no responsibility to explain their decisions to you or anyone else.

Re: Crunchyroll Spring '12 Lineup

First we have Oda Nobunaga as a girl, now we have guns as girls. What's next, famous shrines as girls? Large buildings as girls? (We've already seen subway stations as boys.)

Is there some...

Re: [JP] Hyouge Mono BD-Boxes

I might have bit if these had English subtitles.

This is, by far, one of the most original series I've seen in the years since Bakeneko/Mononoke and Oh! Edo Rocket.

Re: FUNimation licenses Level E

The opening and closing story arcs are by far the best. I quickly lost interest in the "Super Sentai" segment in the middle, but the last half-dozen or so episodes were worth the wait.

I thought...

Re: FUNimation Sues A.D. Vision, Sentai, Others for US$8 Million

This whole case rests within the Texas legal system, so even if you understood Federal law, that may have little relevance to the intricacies of Texas bankruptcy and corporations statutes. If I were...

Re: Which Fall 2011 series will you import?

This question suffers from a common problem often seen when amateurs make polls - the lack of a "none" or "none of the above" option. In this case, an "I never import" option might also be a...

Re: Semi-Realistic Shows

I'm not sure based on your list whether these are shows you'd enjoy, but they certainly meet your request:

Aoi Bungaku
Bartender
Cross Game
Hataraki Man
Hidamari Sketch
Hyouge Mono
Ikoku Meiro no...

Re: Anime and Live Action Style Anime or Science Fiction Movies about human men being in love with Robot Girls ?

Well, the most obvious answer is Chobits (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=357).

Humans and androids have various relationships in Shirow Matsumune's Real Drive. There's...

Re: [US] Madoka Magica

I'm having a hard time understanding why there could be a clearance issue with the textless ending. Does it have different artwork or music than the ending with the credits? Animation production...

Re: Can someone explain me what happened?

And even if they could, most people don't own the audio hardware required to take advantage of these formats. I have a DD 5.1 system with a receiver that's about twenty years old and does what I...

Re: Hentai with cheating (NTR)?

These are both somewhat borderline:

Darling, episode three (wife with female editor)
Enspelled, episode one (husband with landlady)

Re: GKids to distribute 13 Ghibli anime films in U.S.

I could perhaps see showing Ponyo only with dubs because it's likely to have the youngest audience with the most limited reading abilities.

I'd like to see that list of additional venues that the...

Re: Siren Visual - Usagi Drop DVD, Heaven's Memo Pad (w/Dub)

Have you ever seen Dennou Coil? There absolutely none of what you're talking about in this show. Plus it was aired on NHK's educational channel on Saturday evenings, not late at night.

The notion...

Re: Siren Visual - Usagi Drop DVD, Heaven's Memo Pad (w/Dub)

I looked up a review of the Siren release of Dennou Coil and had to laugh at this:

They do know that this was considered a family show in Japan, right? NHK aired it on Saturday evenings at 6:30...

Looks like I'll be cancelling my subscription any day now. I bought it to watch Level E, kept it for Usagi Drop, but I don't see anything this fall that's worth my money. After they picked up Usagi...

Re: Sentai Filmworks acquires Akikan! and And Yet The Town Moves

I always thought Akikan was made because Brains-Base needed a quick infusion of cash. It seemed to have no other reason for existence.

You know, Sentai, you could license Kure-nai from them...
