Re: Maiden Japan licenses Black Magic M-66

Agreed. This is a classic title, and the dub lives up to the reputation. It's a shame to see it, one of the earliest Animaze dubs, disappear.

Speaking of U.S. Renditions titles, I wonder why no...

Re: Kids on the Slope Dub

For the first volume of Penguindrum, adapted and directed by Foster, the subs have been called into question. Apparently, some flights of fancy in the dub made it into the subs.

Re: Media Blasters licenses Jubei Chan

That's good to know... Not really a "full boxset" IMO.
Different seasons, different licensors (least in this case).

Hehe... Will they notice it?
It's Media Blasters. Half the fun is reading the sloppy box copy. :)
No, it's Discotek.

It even says so on the first post and back...

Re: TRSI / Nozomi Ent. licenses Princess Knight

Wow, very impressive TRSI. This one looked lost to the ages. The first color anime on U.S. television, right? Count me in.

Edit: Never mind. I always forget that the dub wasn't released until the...

Re: The Force Five series (1980s) possibly getting DVD release from Jim Terry Production Services Inc.

You're wise to consider this possibility. At the very least, it's probably underhanded. The domain is registered to one "Wasim Ismail," a rather... ahem, distinguished figure in the Force Five fan...

Re: FUNimation licenses Akira

Please, please, PLEASE re-dub this FUNi. You know your actors, adaptors, and directors would love the opportunity, and you might as well give this release some juice. Besides, neither the Electric...

Re: RightStuf's Nozomi Ent Announces MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO Complete Collection L.E. on DVD for Sept. 2012

Sub-only for Gekigangar? Not TRSI's fault I'm sure, but what on Earth ever happened to ADV's dub?

Tiffany Grant lists it on her resume (http://www.modusproductions.com/eva-r/tiff/resume.doc) as...

Re: [US] Laputa: Castle in the Sky

Well, they're assuredly never going to get rid of the giant Castle in the Sky title. Can't really blame them either, with Spanish being so widely spoken in the U.S. and them having (AFAIK) rights in...

Re: Unico: In the Island of Magic

Hmm, still an error in the cast credits, with Cherry being listed as an actress playing the character of Sumi Shimamoto, but who really cares?

While funky and bizarre, I actually kind of like this...

Re: The Fantastic Adventures of Unico

Fair enough, especially since they probably didn't have much art to work with.

BTW, the typo assuredly resulted from the old English-language print (CFI, since absorbed by Technicolor, was credited...

Re: Discotek Media plans to release more Lupin movies and specials in the future

One figures they'll license rescue any that have dubs. For one, Mamo's out-of-print.

Just because Kaye and Devall stated this does not make Ocean the sole offender. As I said before, every studio does this. FUNimation is no different. ADV/Seraphim are no different. All the New York...

Re: Ocean Studios: Are They Really Good At What They Do?

Actually, this is the situation for every single actor (unless they're also a crew member) in damn near every single dub ever produced. Think about how much time it would take to explain the full...

Re: Discotek Media licenses Space Adventure Cobra The Movie

While I agree that it is in dire need of a re-release, having been out-of-print in the states 17-18 years now, there is no DVD or BD release in Japan. There were always rumors, rather apocryphal,...

Oliver lists the role of "Shinkai" on his website resume (http://tonyoliverentertainment.com/ActorCredits.html). Maybe that's the "creature."
