Re: Discotek Media's next 1970's Toei series will be ???

One of the Romantic Robot Trilogy entries could also be a possibility, since Toei were the producers for those:

Chou Denji Robo Combattler V (1976-1977)
Chou Denji Machine Voltes V...

Re: Super Robot Wars OG: Divine Wars

I'm not gonna lie, the choice of title font for this release is pretty bad.

I don't see why MB needed to do this, given that the original font is good enough to begin with and there's no longer any...

Re: Media Blasters licenses Juden Chan

I'm thinking that Media Blasters started their slow fall into disgrace, when they completely stopped dubbing Gaogaigar and used its low sales as an excuse for that, while putting all their attention...

Re: Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo

As much as I would have liked to see the one with the Getter "Go" trio, this will do just fine. :)

Also, Texas Mack represent!

Re: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo: The Complete Series, Part 2

Well, I'm glad that my fave packaging artwork was used for one of the keepcases at least.

Re: What's the future of Bandai Entertainment properties?

Considering how Funi already licensed Eureka Seven Ao, that wouldn't be too unreasonable.

Heck, who knows? They might even do what Bandai didn't and release the entire Turn A Gundam series! But...

Re: iDOLM@ASTER XENOGLOSSIA: Complete Collection 2

What else can I say? I love the back just as much as the front. :D

Re: Hellsing Ultimate: Boxset 2 (Vol.5 - 8) (Blu-ray / DVD Combo)

Respect, Funi. Respect.

This most definitely makes up for the very long wait.

Re: Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo

A suitably cheesy cover, I'd say. It does beat Geneon's all-too-blurry one.

Re: Discotek Media licenses Cutey Honey (1973)

Discotek?

You guys rock. Period. Honest.

It goes without saying that I'll be snagging this one.

Re: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo: The Complete Series, Part 2

Not quite what I was hoping for, but it's alright.

(also, what's with R1 licensors' fixation on cover arts flipped to the side?)

Re: Fafner: Complete Collection (Blu-ray / DVD Combo)

Well, the artwork isn't much to speak of here. If it weren't for the extras (and the movie's art booklet), i'd be seriously tempted to go after Geneon's release instead.

But hey, at least the back...

Re: Unreleased Discotek Media / Eastern Star Licenses Updates Thread

That sounds very promising, considering how Discotek was a fairly modest licensing company until last year or so.

Re: Media Blasters New Title Solicitations (Jan '13)

Well, I'll be darned. I already own CPM's re-release of Shamanic Princess.

At any rate I doubt that this upcoming version will have anything to make it worth going for over the...

Re: TRSI / Nozomi Ent.'s next announcement is ???

Well, I sure didn't see this coming. Glad that it's an older title though, particularly such an iconic one.

It's nice that it's not just Discotek who's willing to go far back as the 70s for a...

Re: TRSI / Nozomi Ent.'s next announcement is ???

I certainly have no idea what this license could be. My gut feeling tells me it might be a modern super robot title, but that'd likely get a Lucky Penny release at most.

In any case, I can hardly...

Re: Psychic Squad (Zettai Karen Children): Collection 4

Much better! There's less clutter and we actually get the main trio again.

I also have to say that I'm loving how the girls are seen interacting with their older selves, on disc 1's art.

Between...

Re: Hellsing Ultimate: Boxset 2 (Vol.5 - 8) (Blu-ray / DVD Combo)

Methinks that they'll probably stuff its disc with extras to compensate.

Still, cool cover. :)

Re: Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up: Complete Series Premium Editon (Blu-ray / DVD Combo)

So this is the back cover, huh? It looks even better than the front and pretty to boot! :catgirl:

But yeah, when it comes to providing retro character looks in a modern way, Takahiro Kimura sure...

Re: Fafner - Heaven and Earth - Movie (Blu-ray / DVD Combo)

And lo, here it is.

Not too bad for a gift. I wonder what the rest of the art shown is like, given that the front page looks promising.

Re: Galaxy Express 999 (TV): Complete Series, Part 1

Their reasoning pretty much boiled down to "it's too long to be worth taking the risk" (keeping in mind that their releases don't get enough money for unlimited funds).

So they've stepped aside and...
