Re: Seven Seas Entertainment [General Thread]

Vamp! was a solicitation that never came to fruition. The Only light novels they were able to release aside from the boogiepop series, were Ballad of a Shinigami 1-2, Pita-ten 1-2, and strawberry...

Re: VIZ Media [General Thread]

honestly, the article doesn't say that Sadamoto is going to end Eva at vol 14, but that the french company lists volume 14 as the last. For all we know, the french company could be saying that they...

Re: New Manga Solicitation Thread [2013]

If you actually read the description of this omnibus, it says it will include full color art, which only the VIZBIG omnibuses get. The price is also a key in figuring out that it will be VIZBIG,...

Re: VIZ Media [General Thread]

If they are doing an omnibus, I'll double dip if it's a VIZBIG release and not some stupid one like those naruto/bleach/full metal/hanakimi/skip beat ones.

Re: Shonen Jump - Print version Dead, Going Digital

I think you guys might be misinterpreting what this thread's about. We're talking about the Shonen Jump MAGAZINE, not the imprint. If you're worried about the physical volumes of the series, don't...

Re: Shonen Jump - Print version Dead, Going Digital

You hit it right on the head of the nail. If you check on Amazon, Viz's listings for their Shonen Jump titles shows that they have sped up their print releases to what seems like every other month,...

Re: Concerning Fullmetal Alchemist Box Set and Vol.27

The whole Idea behind releasing the box set before volume 27 comes out makes sense to me. People who want the whole series will be more encouraged to get this than those who have all the volumes...

Re: Vandread Manga (US Release)

It was never released in English.

The series is past it's time. These days companies are looking for the latest and greatest from Japan, so older titles like Vandread won't really be on any of their...

Re: Vertical licenses "GTO" prequel, sequel

The listing shows Tokyopop as the publisher, though, so I'm guessing this is an old listing from before the license got pulled.[/QUOTE]

Yep. Vertical's GTO isn't coming out until next year so you're...

Re: Vertical licenses "GTO" prequel, sequel

hrm, Amazon has a listing for volume 11, which is volumes 21-22. I guess they didn't want to start from the beginning, but that's okay because at least I get to continue the series right away

Re: Viz questions

If you check on amazon, there are more omnibuses listed for Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, Bleach and Kekkaishi. I think they are just going to release a couple more in the same "One Piece Style"...

Re: Vertical licenses "GTO" prequel, sequel

sigh... Alright this is what happened:

Tokyopop released Shonen Junai Gumi series as 2in1 volumes, so if they were regular tankobans, then 20 volumes were released.

They stopped releasing it...

Re: New Kodansha Dates

I was pretty sure that the Editor and some translators that worked for Del Rey now work for Kodansha, so i wouldn't necessarily say they cut costs.

Re: Question about Tokyopop's GTO Vol. 2

Yes, they also did that with some other titles, namely Kodocha. I think they were just experimenting with their first edition. The second editions on I think went back to their normal paper. It would...

Re: May 2011 Purchases Thread

March and April really dried me up from Border's closing, so i've taken a very reserved approach this month. Most of the titles here are are fill ins, titles that are missing for...

Re: Mushi-shi Volume 6?

The Borders on Wall street in NYC has a volume 6, and since the store's closing, you can get it for 50% off, that's like 6.50. Better hurry while they still have it
