Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

Already paid, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Probably better to have experience with this process before something really big happens.

Thanks. :)

Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

Seems the CBSA isn't immune to randomly messing up taxes, either.

Received CCS Omnibus 2, declared by TRSI at $12.05, opened by customs, and assessed at $166.88 as "Video Discs / Support".

The back...

Re: Canadian Shipping

Just got my first box from them (one of TRSI's 30cmx30cmx25cm-type boxes). Arrived in eight real days (shipped by Brokers Worldwide as Priority Mail, so it became Xpresspost at the border) and was...

Re: Canadian Shipping

I picked up the boxes last Thursday, but only found time to get around to calculating stuff today.

Turns out I'm terrible at estimating costs, so the percentage of overcharging is considerably less...

Re: Canadian Shipping

Brokers Worldwide was part of the tests a few months ago, IIRC. They just handed stuff to Canada Post and it arrived in about two to three weeks.

Re: Canadian Shipping

I look forward to seeing what you find. ;)

Perhaps you shouldn't look forward to it too much -- it's pretty appalling.

So, apparently, the boxes have been at the post office for a...

Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

Nah, i dont want to fool TRSi with adding and canceling pre-orders. I will wait as long as i can and if the counter drops below 5 i will have to place an order and ask the customer service to hold...

Red HamsterX eBayin' some stuff

A few complete OOP, high-profile manga sets because I'm double-dipping, some DVDs because I'm going blu-ray, and a couple of games. And some low-tier telephony hardware, but chances are that won't...

Re: Canadian Shipping

I should have Alberta stats in a couple of days (assuming it takes about two weeks from shipping to delivery), and if those values are what they should be, your theory may be right.

Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

I just had a particularly large number of items split (I don't know how many boxes, but I'd estimate two), so I'll have some larger numbers to dissect soon.

If they're charging their own shipping...

$8.50? Did they at least increase the grace limit?

Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

If it was a CoD, the sums should be printed in small font on one of the stickers on the box.

Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

Can you give us a breakdown of the fees? $7-$10 seems about right for that (flat Customs charge of $5 + tax), so $17 might suggest some sort of clerical error.

Re: New Rightstuf.com Specials Posted - 6/9 - Section23 Sale!

Didn't we see, last time, that Sentai solicited stuff the day after the sale ended?

Re: New Rightstuf.com Specials Posted - 6/2 - Viz Books Sale Continues!

Prepare to be underwhelmed.

While the series did have some dark twists to it, it was all constrained by the 1980s's tendency to write (and voice) animation for the seven-and-under crowd, so unless...

Re: Shipping to Canada

Probably nothing.

It's a sufficiently essential service that it can't go unmaintained for long. I'm inclined to believe that private carriers will be contracted to handle deliveries in the meantime,...

Re: New Rightstuf.com Specials Posted - 5/12 - Funimation Sale!

Perhaps he passed through some sort of prism-like construct and we'll discover a slew of independently acting facets of his being, each more fearsome than the last.

Re: 1 and Only Rightstuf.Com Thread/FAQ (10/03)

While you should do the survey anyway, and get a GA? account for the benefits it brings, the coupon will only be helpful if $60 worth of the items you intend to order do not have a "Not Eligible For...

Re: New RightStuf.com Specials - 4/28 - Udon Sale!

I'm doing the same (with a few other books).

Amazon.ca has a very slight price advantage, but TRSI is more deserving of my money.

I was two days behind you with the one sent via XPO (no sign of Customs), so maybe I'll get the BW box tomorrow. We probably don't constitute enough of a sample to be considered authoritative, but...

More information is revealed further down that path, but you won't get many more details out of the core storyline. Also, I don't know if that high price tag was needed for 100% completion, if you're...

Re: Fencedude plays AT3

That's probably the reason why it's near the top of my list of favourites. That or its really interesting, consistently punctuated structure.

Same thing with At2's Despedia.
