Re: (18+) Kitty Media release updates

The show was previously a CPM title, released as Spaceship Aga Ruter (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=3009).

Re: [US] Fate/stay night

Can't comment on artifacting or any other potential problems with the JP set, but it was 1080i: Geneon's product page (http://www.geneon-ent.co.jp/rondorobe/anime/fate_bluray/top.html).

That said,...

Re: (18+) Which Pixy series would you like licensed first?

In order of preference:
1) Taimanin Asagi
2) Kangoku Senkan
3) Makai Kishi Ingrid
4) Himekishi Lilia
5) Uchu Kaizoku Sara

I'd actually be fine with just the top four titles, as the overall quality...

Re: Hyakko: Complete Collection

I think that, since it is a Lucky Penny release, this will more likely be a keepcase.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, the perceived thickness is just due to how they have that cover image mocked-up.

Directly from the...

Re: Spice & Wolf Novel 7 - No more dust jackets?

My copy arrived yesterday from Amazon, and I was also surprised to see the lack of a dust jacket.

That said, even besides preferring the original art, given that the jackets were wrapped around a...

Re: Icarus Publishing - Dead?

The latest news on Icarus, from the rolling comments in the site's last blog entry, is: the the owner, Simon, is apparently dealing with "medical issues;" the website's domain was recently extended...

Re: Vertical, Inc. Publishing [General Thread]

Assuming the series really is licensed, seems like it could be a good fit for Dark Horse, especially as their seinen offerings are becoming depleted.

I'm not particularly familiar with the main...

Re: VIZ Media [General Thread]

I’d say for the most part, VIZ tends not to print colored pages for the majority of their manga titles, regardless of how a book may have been released in Japan.

I’d also say this is particularly...

Re: Yen Press [General Thread]

They've done a few omnibus releases, including Azumanga Daioh, their editions of Dragon Girl, and certain volumes of Higurashi: When they Cry and Goong. They also have the forthcoming compiled...

Re: Project-H release schedule (adult, natch)

In general, I find Project-H has done an awful job at communicating their intentions for the product line. Using My Cute Crossdresser as an example, if you're telling me it's an eromanga than I have...

Re: Project-H release schedule (adult, natch)

Well, thanks for the heads-up, but I currently want neither book, as Velvet Kiss doesn't remotely interest me and I'm not in the mood to take chances on My Cute Crossdresser.

As for My Cute...

Re: Project-H release schedule (adult, natch)

I'm just surprised My Cute Crossdresser is actually a Project-H title, and not something for one of DMP's BL/Yaoi lines. Besides even the otokonoko phenomenon, from what I saw during a cursory web...

Re: Project-H Books licenses Yawaraka Onnanoko (Tender Hearts) h-manga [18+]

No prob on the help.

Understandable, though I wouldn't hold my breadth (which is not to say go and buy the JP book).

Besides whether KTC would even entertain a U.S. license, their catalog...

Re: Project-H Books licenses Yawaraka Onnanoko (Tender Hearts) h-manga [18+]

Unfortunately, if you're looking for something with a bit more bite, there's a good chance Yawaraka Onnanoko won't meet your expectations.

While I'd admit the book's art is more to my liking than...

Re: Yen Press @ Sakura-Con [incoming licenses]

Lucky Star Vol. 9 was released last December, and I believe the manga is still ongoing.

Generally speaking, I wouldn't mind seeing LS rescued, although I found the later volumes focusing mostly on...

Re: Dark Horse plans "at least" 5 new manga licenses for 2012

There was a time when five new manga series from Dark Horse would have gotten me pretty darn excited. Nowadays, the company’s focus has noticeably drifted away from their Japanese content, with only...

Re: [US] Arakawa Under The Bridge

Yes, like Katanagatari, it's subs are fairly small, which depending on how far away one is from their screen can be eye straining.

Re: [US] Arakawa Under The Bridge

One potential issue is that the subtitles on the BD discs cannot be turned off, at least when viewed using an average BD player (this can be circumvented using various PC playback programs).

Some...
