Re: [US] Fairy Tail

Upscales aren't always bad, but unless it's something I really want to own I generally don't find they're worth the money (especially with the mediocre and inconsistent job Funi usually does with...

Re: [US] Fairy Tail

Yeah, I've started to pass on all the upscales and just watch them on Netflix Streaming in HD. Now if only they started using subs...

Re: Blu Diving (looking for best price deals on blu-ray discs)

Online, use DVDPricesearch.com (http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/), it comes in handy (and of course this site is a big help too, as well as the various others on the net like DVDTalk's Blu-Ray Bargain...

Re: [US] Full Metal Panic! / Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU

Good news, upscales and hopefully lossless for both audio tracks.

Re: Funimation Confirms Fullmetal Alchemist Movie Blu-ray

If it's cheaper at other big e-tailers you can email Amazon and they'll usually lower the price.

Re: [US] Witchblade

I wouldn't go by them. Going by their past reviews they really don't review well (let alone take screen shots).

Re: [US] Claymore

Nice! Please Funi, let it be lossless (although I have my doubts).

Now I think the only original title they've failed to schedule for release is Blue Gender, which I suspect the reason they held...

Re: [US] Kurokami the Animation

Wait. This is totally stupid. So this is for the dub or sub? Either way I can't honestly believe in this day and age an anime company will try and push a product in the US market without an original...

Re: [US] Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Season 1

Yes. But I also said something about about remedying that in the future. Although, It doesn't look like they're going to be doing that in the short-term for DD2.0 Japanese tracks.

As already...

Re: [US] Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Season 1

I'm not too concerned about them using DD2.0 lossy for Japanese as long as they keep their prices low. Hopefully they will respond to their customer's concerns and remedy this at sometime in the...

Re: [US] Witchblade

It doesn't matter that no PCM DVD option exists, as Skywise says, that's the whole nature of the beast when it comes to blu. It doesn't necessarily have to be LCPM. If they want to save some space...

Re: [US] Witchblade

I guess they think the English speaking audiences don't know any better. Well, we know the Funi reps read this forum and hopefully they will get the message to put a little extra effort into the...

Re: Darker then Black & Claymor

I think Claymore is up in the air. Either way it was one of those titles Funimation initially announced as getting a Blu-Ray release. I'd love to see them release it along with their long promised...

Re: [US] Witchblade

I'm a little disappointed they decided to go with lossless for just the English 5.1 track and I really don't understand why they didn't add a LCPM Japanese 2.0 track instead of just a 640K DD one,...

Re: Darker then Black & Claymor

Even though the trailer itself was in true HD (not upscalled) it was for the recent DVD release of DTB, and was on a few of their Blu-Ray titles (I think Vexille was one). Since they had the source...

I also am another one of those who buy most of my anime content blind, but I do usually take some recommendations from the folks on this forum (in particular) and other forums around the net. I will...

Re: [US] FMP TSR BD Audio?

"Goes on sale" meaning becomes cheaper not "being released". It's still cheaper on Amazon, as I am not a member of their GotAnime club. (and a bit too expensive for a short series as this)

Re: [US] FMP TSR BD Audio?

Yeah, it pretty much looks on-par with any of the other upscales I've seen. Not bad, but it could have been much worse. Overall a decent job by Funi- they're definitely getting better. I'll probably...

Re: [US] Samurai Champloo: The Complete Collection

This one came out of left field.

Don't take Amazon's listings (specs) for face value- they are often wrong. So this could quite likely be 3 discs.

Re: [US] Witchblade

I'm hoping this will be a genuine HD release- AFAIK it didn't air in Japan in HD, so it would be odd for them to release it over here in HD before it gets a HD Asian release (on Blu or otherwise).
