They pushed the OP single, but usually that doesn't have a direct effect on anime sales. She has only a somewhat minor role in the show too.
The first volume
did come with an event ticket to a Dog Days fan/seiyuu event but I don't know if that made a big difference. Guess we'll know with Vol. 2?
