R1 releases don't have to change, just imports. And for the JP industry, it's not DVD vs BD, it's just "Japanese release" since they're nearly all both BD and DVD anyway.
BDs were only ever separated in the first place because they were "new" and "different" back then, and more to the point kind of rare. Now they're the standard. We never put JP DVD releases in with R1 DVD releases in the pre-BD era, after all.

You've made this point of view very clear to the point I imagine it's getting exhausting on your part. All I wanted to add was that for at least this member, a distinction between releases in terms of region coding is irrelevant. It's just not a barrier for me, so being able to take a look at the entirety of BD releases has been helpful.
