Re: Episode 2
Episode was good. I enjoyed it.
What impressed me most was the combination of Yamada's storyboards in conjunction with Kigami's direction for this episode. So many scenes were perfectly timed. The brief pause between Tamako and Mochizou's nervousness when speaking at the neighborhood meeting and then the rapid shift to Yumoto who continues the nervousness was very well executed. I also liked the scene where Mochizou deciphers Tamako's message, gets out the cups/string, plants some dough to give the cup some weight, and then perfectly nails Tamako with his throw. Yamada has learned very well from Ishihara on comedic timing. Just an overall well-timed episode where things never felt rushed, but was fast-paced in general. I've been impressed with Yamada's storyboarding/timing for EDs since "Don't Say Lazy," but she's really grown into her own with this show. I'd love to see more of the Yamada/Kigami combo (they've previously teamed up for K-On!! ep 4 (Kigami storyboards/Director) and the movie (Supervisor Yamada/Layout supervisor Kigami)).
