Considering Hojo had a vested stake in the company himself and it was his own work he chose to edit (no one forced or asked him to), I can't see a reason to complain about it being "edited". I mean, he's the creator and its his work, he can do whatever he wants with it. I'd object if it was the company that published it requested he do it or something, but nothing like that happened.

How do you know this wasn't 'suggested' by the US marketers at Gutsoon? He must have gotten the idea from somewhere that he could sell more or cause less problems getting it into stores if he self-censored his work.
I doubt he just woke up one day and said, "You know, I should have put a pastie on that dancer."
In any case, it's an edit to the US release and it's a moot issue since Gutsoon is out of business.
If selling at 'big book retailers' means censorship, then the 'big book retailers' and the companies that bend over for them are no better than the book burners of old.
