Clannad news from Izumicon

Figured I'd pop in here and post as well. At the Sentai Filmworks panel I just did at Izumicon, I announced that we have heard the cry from the fans and Sentai WILL be going back and doing a dub for Clannad After Story. We'll do an exchange program of course for those who want to trade in their subtitled only version. The release will be coming out in April next year.

In addition I announced that Sentai Filmworks has picked up the license for the Clannad movie and will be releasing it dubbed and subtitled in March.

BTW, this will also mark my return to doing some ADR directing as I will co-direct these with Janice.

I will definitely be picking up the Clannad movie and double dip on After Story.

Only Clannad news, dlw? Oh well, cool to see that even that title will get the full dub treatment and that the movie is also on the way. Even some news is better than nothing.

Thanks for reminding me, that's another factor for me to consider. Do I get these versions or wait for a BD version? One that might never come for various reasons.

Ah, that's good to hear. It also gives me more reason to double dip on the first season since there's no longer the worry about the second season. Well, aside from the usual. Which is I keep thinking about those titles that I never got the first time around.


If I double dip on "After Story", I'll probably skip the exchange program. Since after all, I did skip the exchange program for Original. Which I still have yet to get. For the obvious reason of double dip hesitation.


As for the movie, I'll have to think about that one. Well, at least it would be a single dip. Speaking of Toei versions. I wonder if anyone will ever pick up the Kanon TV series that they did.

That's a good question. If anyone did, I would probably pick it up still.

I'll definitely be getting the Clannad movie, even if it's not quite as good as the TV series like I hear. "Not quite as good as Clannad TV" is still pretty darn good.

Now KyoAni only needs to make a Little Busters anime.

Well, if Sentai wants to have a Kanon all to themselves once again, it necessarily wouldn't be a bad choice, especially since they could do what the Japanese didn't and have the same exact cast for the English dub.

Also, I would probably consider getting that show then, as I'm still kind of on the fence about getting those shows, and having a shorter one released would definitely make me more likely to get them, much like how I bought Air when ADV released it.

That reminds me, I still have to get back to Air and finish watching it.
