From this point, this will be the general discussion thread for Ichiroh!. I wonder if it's possible to get the threads for volume 1 and 2 merged with this, so the entire series can be together in one thread. Or if that's even a good idea.

Regardless, I'll be reading through volume 3 soon and at the very least using this thread for that volume. Along with volume 4 and volume 5. And then, oh, wait, volume 5 is the last one. Ah, well.. Still, volume 4 is months away and 5 doesn't have a date yet. So, yeah it's volume 3 time.

We have Akane and Nanako on the cover Nanako, carry your wife! What?

An illustration on Nanako and Akane as mikos. I doubt it's intentional, but Nanako made me think of Reimu (Touhou) for a second.

On the character introduction page, Akane is blowing informative bubbles!

In the color pages, Wakaba comes for a visit, looking all pretty. Turns out, she wanted to study the day in the life of a working person. Too bad for Anko, she didn't realize it until it was too late.


Oh, and some fanservice in color is always a good idea. I just love how Anko wanted to be in the color pages. In part because it meant she got to be a part of the service.


Nanako has a need for an air conditioner. However she'll have to buy it herself. Being the way she is, she keeps checking another store to see if one is cheaper.


Akane and Nanako run into Koradate-sensei. They discover where she lives. Akane finds a comrade? Oh, and Shino ended up giving an air conditioner to Nananko. In part to get closer to Nananako. Shino will never give up.


Nanako gets to baby-sit Wakaba and take her out to a movie. Mostly because her father has other things that must be done, so it's up to Nanako to make sure Wakaba can still see it.


Wakaba is adorable and shy. She both tries to avoid Nanako and cling to her. Note that the two together qualify for the parent and child discount. Yeah, Nanako, they do see you that way.

Yes, Nanako, please have Wakaba dress up more. It's for the benefit of her, yourself, and heck everyone.


Akane and Nanako get to study over at Mai's place. Which means it's time for Mai to hide things. Not that it does any good because Akane finds one of the manga and other stuff anyway.


Also, let's not kid ourselves here. Given the way Akane is, I doubt she'd get angry over such stuff. That and since Nanako is probably used to Akane anyway. So in the end, Mai had no reason to worry.


On a side note, it's fun how Shino has really good hearing. Either that or she must have Nanako bugged. Take your pick as to which is the truth. Still, it sounds awesomely dangerous.



Mai, many of us believe that Akane and Nanako are that intimate with each other. Or maybe that's just what I'm hoping. Being more than friends is clearly what they should be. Even so, we can't forget about Shino's position as the lover.

Akane is the one that cuts Nanako's hair. Speaking of Nanako's hair, the law require it to remain long. Akane is nervous around Mayura and Maura wants to take Akane home.

Once more Nanako is motivated to work at the maid cafe with Mai and Mayura. Oh, and we get a swimsuit maid. Yeah, figure out how that works for yourself.


Akane uses the air conditioner way too much. However Nanako cares about the environment. Well, it helps that "saving money" is also involved with that said caring.


Anko shall embrace the idea of maids. Thus we get maids vs miko. Remember that being a miko makes you more capable against youkai. Oh, and Nanako should have worn that outfit.

*Checks back in the back earlier* Ah, that's the same exact outfit in that illustration. So it was a maid-miko hybrid outfit after all. Yeah, that's fun to find out.


Akane and Nanako go to summer classes. They meet with some elitist girl named Kozue. I get the feeling Kozue mainly wants some attention. Or I could be wrong.


Mai wants to go out with Nanako. Mostly because her horoscope recommended going out with someone of the same sex. Yeah, Mai into the idea of charms and such. Still the fact she chose Nananko as opposed to anyone else...


Nah, I probably shouldn't read into it too much. Ah, who am I kidding. Especially with Akane and Mai both realizing the importance of clinging to the Nanako.


Akane actually visits the library on occasion. Akane and Nanako go there for studying purposes. They run into Kozue. Kozue has declared them as rivals. Yeah, someone wants attention.


I love how Kozue kept bragging about her study items and yet she didn't even know how to use the very items she was bragging about. Yeah, I think maybe she's missing an obvious step.


Kozue followed Akane and Nanako home. Ok, now I'm convinced that Kozue wants to be part of Nanako's harem. In other words, meaning that Kozue has very good taste.


Kozue gets to bathe with them. So Anko is larger. Akane is larger. Nanako and Kozue are on the smaller side. Nanako now feels closer to Kozue. I have absolutely no idea why.

Anko's sexy scene must not be interrupted. Given this and the color page comment earlier, Anko feels like the main fourth wall breaker of the series.

Ah, so apparently in the end that's the natural state of Kozue's hair. Wow. That must be really special hair.

Anko is convinced that Kozue will be a future resident of the dorm. I'm not really sure saying things like that in front of a student are such a good idea.


Ah, Kozue wants to sleep with the two of them. Although she relies on "tsundere" reasoning to justify it. Yeah, she's definitely tsundere for Akane and Nanako.


Kozue's bed hair is just wow. Still it gives us a chance to see just how amazing Akane really is at hair stuff.

A Shino appears and I think this means Kozue will now have to realize just what the real danger in life is. Speaking of Shino, her role in this volume feels kind of limited this time around.

Shino shall spend time with Nanako. Nanako's father shall choose that time to come for a visit. Thus we get a better idea what the father is like. Yeah, saving money is not his strong suit.


Anko burns letters from Nanako's brother. Nanako gets to read one of them. Nanako concludes that they should keep burning them.

Shino and Nanako's father are into exchanging pictures of Nanako.

Under that miko outfit, Akane is going commando! No complaints from me about that.

Sharing bras between Akane and Nanako is not plausible.


Ah, so Nanako gets at least some clothes from Shino. A fact that provides Shino with benefits. Such as getting Nanako to try on the clothes and possibly wear some the same clothing that Nanako wore.

And we end with Akane, Nanako, and Anko ready to go on a trip. Yes, Shino will be joining them. Shino had to hide in the bed and spy on them, didn't she?


If we're lucky this trip will covered in volume 4 and maybe there's a chance of others coming along as well. It's going to be a long wait for the next volume of this series.


So this time around I tried making comments as I read the volume. Which resulted in a larger posts. In any case, the volume was fun as usual. Also, this needs an anime. And one of those that gives a fleshed out treatment.


I figure with five volumes, they could give us a two cour series at least. Or maybe a three cour series! Yeah, I realize I'm asking for too much and that most manga are in reality lucky to get even a single OVA episode...


Some of the illustrations are nice and makes me want to avatar-ize them. Well, assuming everything need to do so were to fall in place.

In this volume, we have swimsuits. Thus this volume is already off to a positive start.

A training camp where Nanakao, Akane, Kozue, and Mai travel with Anko.

Shino supports the idea of Akane x Kozue. Mai seems to be into the stuff as well.

I think Kaname and Mayura might be dangerous for Wakabe's mental health. Still a bit of corruption and a few years might do some good. Wait, I feel wrong.

A tragedy at the maid cafe. Wait, they find a solution involving mikos. Whatever works.

Nanako really needs to just accept her harem. Even if two members of her harem are competitive.

Just one more volume to go.

Thus the series has come to an end. The girls have finally passed the test. Well, the one that had the most trouble with Nanako herself.

Nanako finally kisses Akane! She'll of course claim it was the friendly type, but we all know the truth. Yes, I want Nanako to ravage Akane.

Over all a pretty nice series. I'd say more about the volume, but I'm finding it harder to do the back and forth thing.

Read a page, comment on the page, read another, etc. I'm starting to see the benefits to the following. Having a digital version to look at it. As well commenting by chapter.
