I guess it's okay since it's Orihime, but the background is rather lackluster the previous sets. I will be passing on this.

I have to say that I missed the singles artwork... Out of curiosity, do we still have the singles artwork inside the box since the singles were canned?

As far as I know, no. These new sets are in keepcases.

This show no longer gets box sets. People are just calling them that out of habit. This is as bare bones as it gets. Plain standard keepcase with nothing but discs inside. And it looks like they cut it down to 11 episodes to rub more salt in the wound.

Not really. I would have to figure that box set 10 would also be 11 episodes to end at the next arc split (157-167). Episode 168 starts the next filler arc. And what episode did Bleach go to 16:9 widescreen? I want to say it was episode 168, but I'm not exactly sure on that.

I know that quite a few people are pointing out how plain the covers of these past four sets have been, but they are technically similar to the singles that were released of the Hueco Mundo story arc previously. Volumes 27-31 pretty much featured a single character from the series with a white background. The only exception was that volume 32 had a black background. Other than that I believe that this cover and the previous three (sets 6, 7, and 8) are designed similarly to the single releases of this particular story arc.

I'm just going to buy Box Sets 1-3. Good idea?

Box set 3 is an excellent cutoff point for the anime. If you still care about the main plot you can pick the story up again with volume 21 of the manga. I still buy the anime, but only the episodes adapted from the manga.
