BREAKING: Australia's New Anime Distributor Hanabee Announces Its First Title!

Back in April at Supanova Melbourne, Hanabee, the new Australian anime distributor had its launch. Since then, the company has been cleverly dropping hints on its Facebook page as to what its first releases will be, and many anime fans have been actively guessing the titles, while at the same time eagerly anticipating the formal announcements.

I have just received official news that Hanabee's first anime licence is... Toradora!! The first volume of this popular anime series featuring episodes 1-13 will be available on DVD in Australia and New Zealand from October 3.

Founded by Eric Cherry, former CEO of Siren Visual, Hanabee is Australia's third anime distributor (the other two being Madman and Siren Visual). Mr Cherry has expressed his interest in making the Australian anime market 'a more interesting one', which is certainly great news for all Aussie anime fans.

- Is tora dora only going to be on dvd? Any plans for a possible blue ray release?

Amongst our celebration for reaching 5k Likes we, over at the Hanabee office, are proud to finally answer a couple of those burning questions that have been popping up often on our wall since the announcement of our releases.

Although I can confirm that none of our October Releases will be sold with a slipcase, it does not mean that there won't be something special for the release of Toradora! this year.

More specifically the release of Toradora! Part 2 in December will be sold in a sturdy rigid box with enough space to fit Part 1 inside and a little something extra...can you guess?

That's right, for the first time to be released outside of Japan our Decemeber release of Toradora! will see the remaining 12 episodes of this 25 episode series sold and the OVA!
