I wouldn't suggest boycotting until we get Nanoha, Rozen Maiden Overture, or The Familiar of Zero by any means, but if you show Geneon your support it might make those titles be solicitated faster? Wait...what am I saying?! BOYCOTT!!! Only Elemental Gelade for me ^_^.

I'm not boycotting, just saying that Geneon's "rush mode" is as good as some companies "regular mode". I don't have the title Geneon Fanboy in my sig for nothing :D

It's all anecdotal, on both sides. I say I dislike their prices because it stops me (and a lot of people I know) from trying their shows out blind. And others can say cheap ADV sets make them wait and not buy singles. But both companies continue to do the same thing, so we can't claim either is better -- although Geneon is gradually trending somewhat lower, rather than higher, at least relative to their older releases. If that trend continues, then we'll know that they decided cheaper is better.

But again, I almost exclusively buy singles, so it's almost moot to me. And with the news in the other thread and the possibility of Geneon DVDs now getting the same discounts as ADv discs, it's super moot <3 But I'll still continue to do my blind set buying from other companies.

Tenchi Muyo has been out in R1 for many, many years. This is a rerelease of a show that's been out since 2000 and that might be the reason for the new collection since the other seems to have gone OOP. As for the low price point, that might have to do with the fact that the show has been out for quite awhile and probably successful since all of it's sister shows are brought over here.

The others like Paradise Kiss and Gankutsuou are relatively new shows that haven't had a collection before. Their pricing of them sucks, with that I agree since I've yet to buy a box set from Geneon that hasn't been on sale at around 50% off, but I don't think they will change any time soon.

enchi Muyo is released again in a collection at a low price while other old licenses like 3x3 Eyes and El Hazard get singles at the low price of 14.99 for MSRP. While this does support the idea that they might make a second release for a much smaller price, I wouldn't really count on it. Although since they are moving most of their work to ADV, whom is known for their low price collections, I can't say that anything is impossible :D .
