Story about mail carriers known as Tegami Bachi (Letter Bees), who moonlight as giant bug killers apparently.

Episode 1:
- Grr hate new player so much. The 720p looks nice but no matter what I do I can't get it to play as smoothly as Old Player. - Sawashiro Miyuki! Though as a boy. Hmmm, Sawashiro opposite Fukuyama. For some reason, their voices, both great individually, make an odd mix. Might take some time to get used to. - Ugh, that CG is going to be a problem. - Okay, the sooner we meet Sylvette the better. - Aria too. Koshimizu Ami! - And Sylvette is Mizuki Nana! - Fukuyama Jun must have a thing for wheelchair-bound imouto. - Huh, preview as the first 30 seconds or so of the ED sequence is unusual. I guess this was okay, but a lack of females could be a problem if we stick primarily with Gauche and Lag. Also, fuck the CG. Guess it's good enough to give another ep though. Just hate having to completely restart ff and clear out almost all tabs and close most extraneous programs to get this to play, and even then get low framerate on pans and zooms even with fast fullscreen on and smoothing off.

I think the jerkiness on the pans is the same thing that affected early Saki episodes, since I'm getting it as well. QUARKBOOOOOOOOOOOOY

I think I may end up liking this a lot more than I thought I would, despite the CG badness, at the very least, I'm in for it for more of Aria, that's a great bit of character design. |

That was... unimpressive. I guess it has potential and I'm certainly interested in Sylvette and Aria, but most of the episode was thoroughly underwhelming. Lag Seeing was quite annoying too, which did it no favors. I hope he got his whining and crying out of the way, because his voice can become really obnoxious, real quick.
I guess I'll watch a bit more, but my expectations are low.

Anyway, Quarkboy, do you have any idea why the show only runs 20:54? Only other show I've seen that way was Shin Mazinger, which had ~2 minutes randomly chopped out of its TV airings, leading to some...incoherence. At least for that the first 18 episodes had full showings on BandaiChannel (and one enterprising group did a good job of editing the two together, showing exactly how they would chop things out between LINES, very strange), is this a similar situation, or is it just 2 minutes shorter for no real reason?

Actually, I can say for certain that isn't the case, because I have the scripts and this was the entire script.

Excellent first episode overall. I found the "humans as packages" thing kind of strange, but other than that everything else was pretty good. I like Gauche so far, though I can't quite pin down why I do. It came off as almost comical to me when Gauche and Lag ran into the first Gaichuu that shows up in the episode. Their reaction seemed rather casual, but whatever. The concept of being able to see into others' memories was pretty interesting, and so were the memories themselves. I'm pretty impressed overall, so I'll definitely be giving the next episode a shot.
