Well after reading the volume 0 and now this one I am hooked. Can't wait to see what Luki and Noki are capable of.

Much like the first volume, I'm greatly enjoying this series mainly because it's adults (or at least mature youngsters) doing action-packed adult things. It's not as engaging as Black Lagoon, unfortunately, but it deservedly has joined that series in heroically attempting to fill a big gaping hole amidst the plethora of angsty teens with a lack of motivation and/or conviction that cover the manga landscape.
I also appeciate the use of solid black shadows and detailing for a cold contrast in the art that fits the tone of the story. There's screen tone use, but not as much of it as you'd find in most other series. It does make things a little cluttered on occasion, but overall it's a refreshing thing to see in manga, especially as an artistic counterpoint to panel after panel and page after page of nothing but screentones with an occasional sparkle and word balloon that stand as a hallmark of numerous shoujo manga.
