Its not really Rei...looks like a cosplay fantasy. Rei is a naive schoolgirl who wears her school uniform, white swimwear & neck-down whole-body plug suit demurely.

I'm with you Njr Scrawl. That figure doesn't really even look like Rei.

Meh, the contest is one of those "go on Facebook" ones anyway. I'm not joining Facebook just to try to win a contest and especially not one for a figure I'd just turn around and try to sell because it's kinda ugly in my opinion.

We've got a good growing crowd there, but there will be a lot of contests that don't involve that as well. I've got a huge stack of figures to work through!

Yah know, beggars can't be choosers.

The facebook thing is a little "eh". However, I have been getting egged on making an account by my sister and friends for months now.
I do prefer the comment page a bit more.

True, but I'm not a beggar.

How much work goes into setting up contests anyway Mr. Beveridge?

If there's no room for alternate interpretations than no one should ever do re-imaginings or draw fan-art. I like the look of the figure myself, and I hope I win it. There are like a billion different versions of Rei based off of her original design, what's wrong with something a bit different? Hell, this figure in particular is based off of another artist's interpretation, so it's not like they decided out of the blue "Hey! Let's fuck up Rei!"

EDIT: Now that my morning grumpies are gone, I apologize if my post seemed a bit harsh. Still, just the thought of that gorgeous figure being just sold off after being won as a prize got my collector's blood boiling. While I love the figure myself, I understand that not everyone else feels the same way. The more I look at all the pictures online the more I fall in love.

Yamashita's interpretation of Rei is generally much more accepted than Mogudan's.

For those who want the Sadamoto version, there are tons of figures out there for them.
