The JP releases are upscales, so there wouldn't be much of an improvement aside from elimination of compression issues and superior upscaling in comparison with consumer TVs, etc.

But from what I've heard about Sentai's Hidamari Sketch DVDs, perhaps there would be a significant improvement after all.

What exactly is the title supposed to mean, if anything?
Why do they call Kai "Shuria-san" in episode 7?

Yes, I translated all the video extras including the two 15 minute live-action Kamukura and Enoshima travelogues. No commentaries, though.

The title in kanji is:
詩片
which literally translates to "poem verse", or "poem piece"

But the word is also a homonym for
泡沫
which literally translates to "frothy liquid" but has a meaning of "ephemeral" or "transient". That's the deal with all the bubble imagery later in the show.

And the shuuria-san is a joke. It means 修理屋,
i.e. "Repairman"... because he was fixing Ichika's earring.
