Poster looks nice but I don't think I'd actually put it up, so if I like the movie (guess I'll find out in the next week or so) it's probably better to just go through Amazon and pay... oh, probably $30 less when all is said and done. I do have ¥3100 in coupons/points at CDJ but makes more sense to use those on CDs, probably.

So I think I can live without the external bonus this time if it comes to it.

I only went with CD Japan because of that free S/H promo (over a certain amount) and I don't have anything else I want to order @ Amazon Japan. The first press bonus is just a nice incentive for me.

Just because I'm evil, and because no one commented on the first four, here's more screen grabs (taken with MPC HC):

I appreciate it; they are beautiful.

I'm considering not watching the BD until Christmas, because otherwise I won't have any "special gift" to give myself for the holidays. And the Black Rock Shooter BD likely won't come in time.

So they help in enjoying this anticipation like a bouquet of fine wine.

My copy is still in the mail. Not that it matters since I won't be able to watch it until this weekend. ;_;

I don't import actual lolicon (Comic LO, etc), but customs isn't going to care about ero or ero-like stuff like 11eyes.

Got my copy today (bloody courier drivers, can't you wait 2 minutes?) and got to watch the movie after ripping open the Amazon box.

Liked the movie despite the fact it is an abridged version of the first season. The ones that stand out for those who are going from TV anime to Movie is there's a good amount of back story that shows how Fate's history came about. I'm sure it may have been covered in a manga version somewhere.

English subtitles are very good, almost professional like in terms of translations, but I wish they used a better font.

About to hit the audio commentary for the movie, but decided to take a break, otherwise it's another 2 hours of crazy yammering. I'm amused though that it's not a cast commentary, rather they got Chiwa Saito and Mai Nakahara to make a commentary in character. Yes that's Subaru Nakajima and Tiana Lancer from StrikerS.

Guess I need to check out the Specials disc later.

On a personal note: of all the R2/Japanese buying in my lifetime, this is the first I felt that I was truly satisfied with what I paid for, thanks to the English subtitles on the disc. I'm sure I'll probably feel the same way when Kara no Kyokai comes out too.

I'm really curious about the ending. S1 has probably my favorite ending ever. I hope it meets or even exceeds it. Drooling over the thought of it being animated in 1080p, too.

Almost? What do you mean by that, exactly?

Seen any other official subs from JP releases? They're generally pretty bad (even worse than R1 translations) and this is going to be no exception. I've also heard that the Nanoha subs are highly liberal, which is unsurprising - that's why I'm not bothering with the "official" translation at all.

I'm not sure to be honest what's wrong with the translation as it reads smoothly and there's nothing that I can fault them too much with the way it's translated (except maybe using American spellings ). I think I'm more directing it towards the fonts than anything else. Disregard my comment about the subs.

There's a nice message from Donna Burke and Kevin J England in the booklet that's written in English. It even has their photos...
