Gonzo Set For New Last Exile Anime Series

I really like the original Last Exile so I'm optimistic about this new series.

As for it being 3D, I could care less about that. I'd much rather they spend the money on the actual animation quality or even animating at a higher resolution instead of on making it 3D.

That's certainly...interesting. Last Exile remains one of my faves after the years, so i'll be looking into this one. Hope they don't screw it up and/or make some lame 3D...

Supposedly it's with completely new characters. I hope this is a 'back story' that:

1. Shows why humans left Earth for Prester;

2. Better explains what the ship Exile is and

3. Shows what went wrong after they arrived

Well, i'm just glad that Last Exile is being revisited. Sequels are, by nature, not as good as the primary....But in this case, the standard is so high that I think care will be taken not to mess it up too bad.

Look at Eureka 7.....Ugh! good series, bad sequel. That movie went South! Its like they took the story line and tied wieghts to its feet and tossed it overboard! Damn!! What were they thinking?

I have higher hopes for this project though.

I am hoping for better things from this sequel as well. Certainly it will be hard to match its predecessor, but I just don't want it to fall flat on its back like what many sequels tend to do.

I can't remember when i've been so excited about a release. I know there's other anime out there and some very good at that, but i just don't have the time to track it all down. I rely on this board as a primary source of research. So i come here every now and then to check things out, and when i saw that LE 2 was on its way...well.. i was happy.

I hope its at least as good as the first, but...we'll see.
