They made a whole chart for Madoka that I posted a few pages back. It has points from 10,000-20,000. Here's the latest on which includes the accumulation for 26,972 points.

Code:

魔法少女まどか☆マギカ 1 16000pt 45336 48292 51180 54068 57024 今後4位でココ

※注意 BD初動のみ
btw, I personally think Madoka will end up doing over 30,000 points.

As for IS, I don't have estimates on me since I haven't seen them myself, but it's easy to make a guestamate based off of other series that have totaled around 7000 points (e.g. K-ON!! and AB!).

This week's numbers are out. Looks like aside from K-ON!!, the other series are still having a tough time getting out the orders. They'll probably trickle out for the next couple weeks if this is any indication. And just as predicted, Zombie does 1,000 DVDs and 2,000 BDs its first week. Also, I didn't realize Dragon Crisis volumes come out so quickly; vol 2 come out last week apparently.

What the hell happened to Ikamusume? I guess supply has not recovered at all yet, same for Milky Holmes. And Ghibli had a field day in the DVD charts with four showings. Even Mononoke got in on the fun.

Winter update:
Kore wa Zombie v1 starts at 3,252 on 2,197/1,055, so it looks like we can bet on DVDs not to rank for subsequent volumes, unless we get some low thresholds. At least we have an idea of how many it moves now though.

Yumekui Merry v1 adds 561 to 4,016. I wish I could be happy about that but it seems guaranteed vols 2+ will see a big drop.

Dragon Crisis v2 (already?) does 602 BDs. Ouch. Although that's actually a ~10% improvement over vol 1.

Fall update:
Yosuga v4 does 5,932/1,234 for 7,166.

SoraOto Forte v4 does 2,251/1,184 for 3,435.

PantyStocking v4 does 1,672 BDs, DVDs don't rank.

Fortune Arterial v4 is 685 BDs. Again, ouch. More supply problems surely, since it's not been that low. Another ~50% drop.

Ikamusume v4 only adds 589 to 3,715. It's still only about half of what other volumes have done.

Milky Holmes v3 adds 519 to 3,624. Like Ikamusume, it doesn't seem to have recovered in the ways K-ON!! did. I think these two are going to recover too gradually to stay on the rankings and thus get into recorded data. Yosuga being a week later helped a lot, clearly.

Past seasons:
Amagami Tsukasa p1 gets to 3,631 and Rihoko p2 is at 3,426.

Hah, UraBoku is the second best selling anime DVD this week.

K-ON!!:
!! Vol 1: 42,433 (12 wk)
!! Vol 2: 39,247 (*9 wk)
!! Vol 3: 38,747 (*7 wk)
!! Vol 4: 38,019 (*5 wk)
!! Vol 5: 39,707 (*5 wk)
!! Vol 6: 36,756 (*5 wk)
!! Vol 7: 35,144 (*6 wk)
!! Vol 8: 35,167 -> 35,572 (*6 wk) - adds 405 BDs.
!! Vol 9: 23,104 -> 33,978 (*2 wk) - adds 9,884/990 second week as supply returns.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Sayonara Zestubou-sensei BD Box does a respectable 2,281 units.

Looks like DVD numbers for Index II vol 1, Oreimo vols 1 and 2, and Star Driver vol 1 have been updated (not sure where the numbers came from though). Index II vol 1 did 5,242 DVDs total, Oreimo vols 1 and 2 did 6,439 and 5,422 DVDs total respectively, and Star Driver vol 1 did 6,352 DVDs total.

I've asked eggplant where the numbers came from and will report back when/if he tells me. You can check out the DVD/BD wiki for the numbers (which I don't know if you knew about).

Probably the monthly lists. Generally only helpful with the biggest selling titles since we only get it for the top... 15 or so? 20? Whatever it is. So Oreimo may have done 5093 and 4828 first week, but over the next 3 weeks added another thousand plus, not enough to rank when spread out over a few weeks. Which makes sense. I just wish we got numbers like that for lower-selling titles where 500-1500 extra means a whole heck of a lot more.

Usually the changes are not super significant for the ones we do get data for, although there are exceptions. Kimi ni Todoke v1, first season, went from 6,543 DVDs in one ranked week to 11,211 total, which is massive. Durarara!! v1 was just crazy... 18,216 after week two, but ended up at 29,653 in later monthly/yearly reports. That's so rare though, especially because most high-selling anime has a BD release, and we don't get these updates for those.

Hakuouki Hekketsuroku v2 got a small adjustment too apparently. I've updated the Vol 1s list for OreImo/Index/Takukto.

And I was aware of the totals on that site, but not that that's there people get those per-disc/per-week lists from. Thanks.

Okay, eggplant replied.

Quote:
There are four factors attributing to discrepancy among DVD numbers, of which the weekly top 300 is tabulated, but only the top 100 is announced.

1. Monthly chart (4th or 5th week)
2. Power ranking chart (1st week)
3. Newtype magazine's monthly chart (7th-10th of each month. Oricon based, but with a different timeframe)
4. Annual and semi-annual chart (Jan-Feb, July)

All of the above are posted on the corresponding Livedoor thread.

The rise in the Oreimo DVD figures results from factor #2, which is a(n) cumulative/comprehensive/aggregate chart which combines comic/light novel, CD, DVD, and Blu-ray sales of manga/light novel works that were adapted into anime (sans OAD manga bundles).
The chart breakdown is given, wherein one can calculate the sales transition of a particular DVD release, hence the increase in numbers.

Furthermore, the Blu-ray sales has been expanded to a top 100 format, although only the top 50 is announced, therefore, the aforementioned four factors will play in the future.

Hope this answers your question.
So yeah, monthly charts was one of the factors but not the only one. I never have understood those "anime power charts" so I'm glad he explained that in detail too. And if I understand him correctly, we may start getting those BD updates that you wished for lol.

Man I hope so, though it'd be best if they'd just stick them in the weekly chart like with DVDs. Need more BD numbers!

Though really it's more DVD numbers we need the most, since BD thresholds tend to be so low anyway and anime has basically free reign over the 50 most weeks. I'd love to see the weekly DVD 100s w/#s changed to DVD 200s w/#s.

Yeah, I don't really understand why they can't just release all the numbers tallied. It's really frustrating that we can't see what some of the lower series' numbers really are or how DVDs rank their second+ week.

Well they are a business and like any other business they have to make money. I doubt it's in their best interests to give away all their product for free, haha.

So unless someone is willing to pay the 'corporate prices' eggplant mentions on the other forum to get the Top 300 DVD numbers, I doubt we'll ever see them. Btw, I wonder how much those 'corporate prices' are exactly. Probably quite a bit.

I've been curious too. Obviously nothing I could afford.
