I would be more excited about this if the EA-produced Dead Space movies weren't total **** and the EA-produced Dante's Inferno wasn't merely average. I don't look forward to seeing the cheap animation EA is probably spending a shoestring budget on. The movie will probably be another of those lame anthology-style movies as well.

No, it states pretty clearly in the PR that this will be a "feature film" not an anthology of short films.

And its also not mentioned anywhere that EA will actually be involved with production, and neither is Film Roman, who did the animation production for the Dead Space movies, so hopefully this will actually look like a real anime unlike the ugly psuedo-anime look of the DS movies.

They also got some actual people from Bioware working on it too, so I think it has the potential to be a decent movie, expecially if they can get the writer of the games involved too.
