FUNimation licensing Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt doesn't mean that it got picked up over some supposedly more 'worthy' show. If they wanted Mononoke, they would have gotten it ages ago.

Also, disliking a title doesn't give someone a free pass to knock it in both announcement threads and then make generalizations about fans of the show.

Well it's the internet and that's his opinion. He could have said that this show is for college professors and other intellectuals and it would still be his opinion.

And that's fine. He's free to his opinion, but having an opinion doesn't exempt one from criticism.

I thought the Black Rock Shooter OVA was fairly awful, for example, and an insult to the character. I'm allowed to say that, but if I went into multiple threads for the BD release and called it shit, I'd certainly expect to get called out on it.

Of course, that's not even getting into the fact that it's less about his opinion of the show than how jerk-ish his behavior has been.

off-topic, but can you explain the bold? I'm wondering how it's an insult. It's not like we've known anything about the character before this show.

A little bit of hyperbole on my part. That's why I tend to keep comments like that to myself, but I was trying to make a point. But basically, I felt that the junior high school bits just clashed too much with the BRS scenes and I didn't really buy the attempts to connect them. It just felt like they were shoehorning BRS into a slice-of-life drama.

I see; for a second I thought you might've been associating what BRS was inspired from.
