I'm spamming the thread but I couldn't believe my eyes when I came home and saw this

Wow...I wasn't expecting it to hit rank 10 this early on...hell I wasn't sure if it would hit it at all. This is fucking fantastic.

It's got a lot of hype and just aired its first episode, so it's not too shocking. It could go on to sell truckloads or it could just pull a Penguindrum - remember how that one roared into #1 at the start? Seems so long ago and far away now, with it still a good ways off from any chance of being a guaranteed 10k seller.

Thing about that one is that it wasn't registered until like 3 eps in so everyone who had to hold back on buying it for three weeks flooded in and pushed it so high up. Horizon was registered before the first ep even aired and still managed this...and the first ep didn't even touch on the story. Hell, it was more like ep 0, consisting entirely of a PE lesson to introduce the main class/cast of characters. If we start to see LN novel sales increase in a style similar to IS then we have a new hit.

YRYR 10k! Another week for Madoka v5 as well. Pretty bleak week for most of the Vol. 1s, except Roukyuubu.

Summer update:
Roukyuubu! v1 does 4798/1647 for a good 6,445. Ought to pass 7k.

R-15 v1 and the rest of the new v1s did as terribly as expected. This does 1,487 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Update: about 490 DVDs (1 rank behind KamiMemo at 493) bringing total to 1,977.

BLOOD-C v1 gets 1095/727 for 1,822.

KamiMemo v1 does 1057/493 for 1,550.

ItsuTen v1 does 774/569 for 1,343.

Twin Angel v1 does 843 BDs, DVDs do not rank. Update: DVDs were #210 for the week, probably like 350 copies but too inexact to list.

Dantalian v1 does 667 BDs, no DVD rank. I guess I can't complain since I ordered other shows instead too, but that's depressing. Update: DVDs were #161 for the week but there's not a close enough milestone to compare to to estimate reliably. Well, it can't be more than 400 at any rate.

UtaPri v1 adds 1246/2205 for 24,383.

Natsume San v2 adds 647/777 for 10,673. It's going to be fairly close whether or not it keeps an average over 10k, but I'll add it to the list for now for getting two consecutive volumes over 10k.

Yuru Yuri v1 adds 760 BDs, total 10,552. Yesssss, over 10k!

Nurarihyon S2 v1 adds 701 DVDs, totaling 3,521.

MayoChiki v1 adds 698 BDs, bringing its total to 5,336 including the 760 DVD estimate.

NO.6 v1 adds 544 DVDs for 5,468.

Spring update:
Sekaiichi v4 does 3,837.

Nichijou v4 does 2074/734 for 2,808. Off 4.8% from v3 wk1.

KamiNomi II v3 does 2,101 BDs, no DVD rank.

AnoHana v4 adds 2261/767 for 26,611.

Tiger&Bunny v5 adds 2219 BDs to total 25,154.

Steins;Gate v4 adds 1237 bringing it to 16,091. That's up 1.5% over four weeks of v3.

Gintama' v3 adds another 2492 totaling 13,444. Way bigger 2nd week than v2, so it's now 3.9% higher than the 4 week total of that volume, 11% higher than the 2 week total.

AoEx v4 adds 787/1336, total 12,910.

Dog Days v3 adds 767 BDs, total 7,565.

Hanasaku v3 adds 712 BDs, total 8,947.

Hidan no Aria v4 adds 457 BDs, total 5,223.

Winter update:
Madoka v6 adds 3524/1106 bringing its total up to 64,819. Hopefully we see more of the BDs on Thursday. Puts the average at 69,258.
Update - v5 adds 529 BDs to total 66,467. It's only very slightly behind v3 now, though with two extra weeks of ranking.

Infinite Stratos v6 adds 2001/1194 totaling 30,435, which brings all volumes over 30k now. Average is currently 33,518.

Gosick v6 does 1742/584 for 2,326.

A Channel v5 gets a second week, first time since v2, adding 409 to total 4,796 counting the 1,050 DVD estimate.

Past seasons:
Index II v8 adds 1164/736, total 15,605. 2.5% up over v7.

Hetalia WS v8 adds 1245 for 7,091. Average stands at 10,248.

Starry Sky v8 adds 829 for 3,165.

Star Driver v9 had another week in it and gets adds 510 BDs for 7,343.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica:
Vol 1: 78,237 (12 wk)
Vol 2: 72,507 (*8 wk)
Vol 3: 66,648 (*4 wk)
Vol 4: 67,396 (*9 wk)
Vol 5: 65,938 -> 66,467 (*6 wk) - Adds 529 BDs.
Vol 6: 60,189 -> 64,819 (*2 wk) - Adds 3524/1106.
Current average: 69,346

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai:
Vol 1: 45,356 (*4 wk)
Vol 2: 32,054 (*4 wk)
Vol 3: 29,510 (*4 wk)
Vol 4: 23,583 -> 26,614 (*2 wk) - Adds 2264/767.
Vol 5: **,*** (** wk)
Vol 6: **,*** (** wk)
Current average: 33,383

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
none

Only v1 next week is Manyuu Hikenchou, which will do about 4k or so. Nothing for two weeks after that, and then we get PenguinDrum, Usagi Drop and Idolmaster (sort of...).

I really can't believe that there's actually something on the order of 1500 people who want to own this show.

I wonder if the gore increased the sales.

I do take solace in the assurance that the movie will bomb spectacularly.

Good, we did get a >100 DVD list for this week. Among other things it gives us an exrtremely close estimate for Mayo Chiki v1 and A Channel v5 (both accurate to less than 20 copies), and some reasonable estimates on others.

262 C v2
289 Astarotte no Omocha v4
*** Kami-sama Dolls v1
*** Dororon Enma-kun meeramera
*** Hourou Musuko v6
*** Nekogami Yaoyorozu v1
*** Maria Holic Alive v3
*** Moshidora v5
*** Rio -RainbowGate!- v6
*** Inazuma Eleven GO v1
*** Sacred Seven v1
*** Softenni v4
*** Bakuman v9
*** 30-sai no Hokentaiiku v4
*** Last Exile DVD Box
*** EMOTION the Best Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami DVD Box v2
*** EMOTION the Best Zettai Shounen DVD Box
*** Kamen no Maid Guy DVD Box v2
*** Kyoushirou to Towa no Sora
*** Muteki Kanban Musume DVD Box
*** Rideback DVD Box v2

I'll update the full list for this week and the Summer Vol. 1 lit with these additions and later tonight.

400 for Ikoku Meiro no Croisee is a pretty rough approximation, but should be about accurate. Ranks 200 to 300 are usually squished in the 300-500 range.

Kami-sama Dolls and Sacred Seven are probably 300 or less, given that rank 300 is generally around 300 copies, and they're both below even that it. Can't really estimate anything useful for these so they remain without DVD numbers.

Obviously Nekogami Yaoyorozu didn't even make the Top 300 either.

Sorry if you all already covered this, but I was somewhat interested in knowing how the Carnival Phantasm OVAs are selling, but I was perplexed that they weren't anywhere on the Amazon BD rankings. It seems that they're being sold under 'software' (and the 2nd Season is currently #1). So are the OVAs just an extra item for some sort of game? I imagine since it's #1 that the series has to be selling quite well, no? But I haven't seen it pop up on any of the Oricon reports... is this because it's labeled as software?

Yes, that is exactly right. Carnival Phantasm, while it's not a game, is being considered software, as if it were a visual novel. This is so it could be sold through retailers who handle their games and such with similar promotions.

Plus the series is for people who bought and enjoyed the visual novels not the anime adaptations, but contains the respective anime voice casts, so selling them through those outlets makes a whole lot of sense.

(someone had a much more in depth reason as to why it's better to sell it as a visual novel and not an actual anime product a few pages back.)

Ah, I see. So it's advantageous for Type-Moon to release it as if it were just another of their VNs. So, are we completely in the dark then as far how many copies the '1st Season' BluRay sold?

EDIT: Also, isn't it bizarre that the second volume of Working'!! is currently top20 DVD and the first volume is down around 50?
