Now that we have a date... Maybe it's just me but I find it interesting that HxH is getting a BD release. Between this and the Suite Precure boxes, maybe long shounen/shoujo anime will start getting BD releases more often. We're still in the very very early stages though.

I also think that with HxH, part of the reason it's getting one is that many of its viewers are going to be older than the norm, because fans from a decade ago (like me) are watching the new series because they remember the old. And I'd expect those people to buy BD more often.

Not that anyone is going to buy the HxH home video release anyway. But the ~1k who do might want BD! On the other hand now that sales are split I wonder if either format will rank at all.

Idolmaster charted a third time, adding 6,186 which brings it to 82,419.

And wow, in comparison, 184,673 first week for Project Diva Extend. Go go Miku.

Honestly, given the size of Miku fandom and the huge install base of the PSP in Japan (Lifetime to date sales figures are the console are more than double that of the PS3), I'm a little surprised it didn't do a touch better. Suppose it is more of an update than a full game, and I guess a lot of people are probably waiting for the inevitable Vita version using the Dreamy Theatre assets.

Yea...PJD Extend is pretty much just an expansion (it was originally named PJD 2.5). 180K isn't bad though for first week sales. PJD2 did about 240K opening week.

At least iM@S 2 continues to rank. I doubt it'll break top 20 next week on Media Create.

Summer update:
Yuru Yuri v3 does 5783/942 for 6,725. Like last volume, it's not going to get a second week because next week is the big end of month week. Boo. Though we eventually got monthly rankings, hopefully this one makes it too because that'll keep it over 7k. Hopefully it doesn't drop below 6k, although it's still better than expected and definitely sequel territory.

Nekogami v3 does 314 BDs.


Spring update:
Hanasaku v5 does 6491/429 for 6,920.

Lotte v6, final volume, does 1,029. Final average, 1,518.

I'm very excited to see Persona 4's sales next week, even though it's going to drop pretty fast, but I doubt Working!! fast.

Thinking about it, Working!! and Persona 4 both had a volume 1 which included the catchy, full length, opening theme.

Oh right it's not being sold separately. Goddamn Aniplex. I really like it, but not enough to buy the whole first volume, even if it's discounted (still ¥3k, too much for one song). I enjoy the anime but not enough to import it. Too much else to buy.

According to Andriasang the Gravure 4 U vol. 2 bundle is sold out (in one day? DAMN) and Namco will be doing another print run that'll be available in early December. I am now curious on how many copies sold.

Damn...the lowest price for the bundle new at Amazon marketplace is 11800 yen and goes all the up to like 24800 yen. On the other hand, the vol. 1 game bundle is now discounted 21%.
