Let me get this straight: They cancelled the BD combo set because they're waiting for pre-upscaled HD masters when they could have just upscaled the Digibetas they already had?

Well I'm sure saying there's a 'materials delay' is much more PC than 'the licensor is being a total prick'.

Since there is now more Blu-ray box I want from Japan, in the end I'll get the FUNimation option for this series. I only hope we will have both seasons on Blu-ray!

Interesting. I wasn't expecting Funimation's release to come out so soon — before the Japanese box set even. I guess they're not worried about reverse importation. It must be because Strike Witches 2 has already ran most of its course through its singles release.

Anyway, I'll be getting this during the next Funimation sale on Right Stuf.

It's currently not listed at RightStuf.com. A late addition like this doesn't happen very often.

It will be interesting to see if there will be any video/audio differences between the two releases (or perhaps locked subs).
