I first noticed this with the Bandai solicits and now with the two Funimation titles.

I noticed that. But, I didn't know it was the case with Bandai as well.

which is weird cause then unless you want it asap... i'd wait for the studio sale... or wait till amazon drops the price down to 50% or more off

That's a bit odd. They also have the 40% off for Strike Witches 2, but the membership discount is still valid.

I think that they goofed up on that one.

The Bandai solicits are all excluded for additional discounts as well. However, 40% off is far better than 32.5% (regular discount and GA discount) in my eyes. Even with an X off Y coupon, it would still only be about 37% off at most with regular discounts.

I see this is another upscale in the growing list of anime BDs that Beveridge has given an A for video quality and praised it as if it were native HD.

If he spent a fraction of the time checking the back of the box as he did the bitrate counter, maybe he'd see that even FUNi knows it's an upscale.

Heavens Lost Property Forte (S2) Update: Funi just informed us that the Heavens Lost Property Forte Complete Season 2 Boxed Set (Limited Edition) that they recently added to the March schedule has been changed from a BD/DVD combo box to a DVD only box. They have dropped the BLURAY release. MSRP has been lowered from $69.98 to $64.98. Anyone who has already pre-ordered this box and wants to cancel that order or make a change should e-mail our customer service team. Thanks!

From what I was told the licensor in Japan was leary about the dates for an overseas BD release being too soon after the Japanese release, so Funi is moving ahead on a DVD only release rather than delay the title.
