Go go Bake! It's pretty crazy to see that within the top 10, Bake is number three and it has the cheapest MSRP. I wonder when it'll break the 1000 million yen barrier. Pretty soon?

It would need to sell almost 6,000 more copies, which I suppose is possible but I don't know if it would happen before it drops off the rankings. Most recent week was 906, it would need about 6 more weeks at consistent sales.

That's actually fairly in line with Stalker's estimates, but I thought I remembered stalker's estimates being significantly lower in each the last time I checked - which granted probably wasn't recently. Either way I didn't expect both formats to sell more than Stalker was estimating. I wonder how v2+ will sell, considering it's what, 11 volumes? Has a count been confirmed yet? This wasn't a discounted first volume though. Fall update: Guilty Crown does 7164/2878 for 10,042 first week. That's... well whatever. Mashiro-iro v1 starts at 2,325, DVDs don't rank. Pretty much what you expect from a romance visual novel adaptation these days. Update: About 840 DVDs, so total 3,165. Last Exile Fam v1 does 3,026 BDs, DVDs don't rank. UN-GO v1 starts at 1,546 BDs, DVDS don't rank. Maken-ki v2 shows a big drop from v1 at 2,138. v1 was 3,119 BDs with about 1k DVDs. Update: About 835 DVDs, so total 2,973. Mirai Nikki v2 does 2,021 BDs, DVDs don't rank. C3 v2 does 1,936 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Persona 4 v3 gets 20208/6653 for 26,861 which is actually 5% higher than v2 wk1. Horizon v2 starts at 18,281, a 12% increase on v1 wk1. Granted, I don't think we can expect it to add another 6.3k like v1 has but it'll be over 20k. v1 adds 1,445 for a total of 24,118. Working'!! v4 starts very consistent with v3, doing 7498/2549 for 10,047, only a 0.47% drop on v3 wk1. Both still a bit of a drop from the 13.9 v2 did. Too bad there was nothing in the monthly rankings for Working, guess the time period just didn't align well, because it probably lost a good 600 DVDs at least from not getting a second week. Tamayura v2 starts with 3,976 BDs, DVDs don't rank like with v1. It's only down 101 copies (2.5%) from v1 wk1 BD, so hopefully it can stay consistent even if it's not high. I like to think this is enough for a presumably low budget iyashikei slice of life show to break even. I hope so anyway. Update: About 780 DVDs, so total 4,756. KimiBoku v2 falls to 1,345 DVDs, BDs don't rank. Shana III v2 gets DVDs this time, 1,048 and BDs will come on Thursday, probably around 2.5k... sigh. Update: 2,753 BDs, total 3,801. Really close to v1, for what that's worth. Morita-san 2 sells 954, it's a DVD-only one-volume release. Summer update: UtaPri v5 sells 5148/6424 for 11,572. I noticed that as soon as it was announced that the next and final disc came with a lottery for a live event ticket, it shot up in the rankings ahead of Nisemonogatari, and even ahead of Gundam UC's DVD version (but not BD obviously). The DVD is still #2 and the BD is #4. Idolmaster v4 sells 5703/1357 for 7,060 (no G4U data yet). A 10% increase on standalone v3 wk1, though that's from going up almost 600 BDs, which I guess is 600 people switching from G4U to standalone for this volume. [Update: 18,179 for G4U, total 25,239, less than a 1% drop from v3 wk1.] Roukyuubu v5 continues along the path of stability, selling 4468/1524 for 5,992. Half a percent up on v4 wk1, though v4 got a monthly ranking adjustment later (which 2 and 3 didn't). Penguindrum v4 does 4,599 BDs, DVDs don't rank. 2.1% increase on v3. Usagi Drop v4, final volume, does 3,076 BDs, DVDs don't rank again. Slightly better than v2 or v3. But I really wish this show sold ten times this much. Update: About 805 DVDs, so total 3,881. Final average: 3,917. BakaTest Ni v5 also ranks BDs only and increases a bit, 1,362, though BDs should rank on Thursday. Update: 2440 BDs, total 3,802. Mayo Chiki v5 sells 3,372 BDs, DVDs don't rank as usual. NO.6 v5 sells 1,514 DVDs, BDs don't rank. Slight increase (0.9%) on v4 which also saw no BDs rank. Update: 1,256 BDs, total 2,770. Sacred Seven v5 does 1,409 BDs, DVDs don't rank. KamiDols v5 is 1,290 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Ikoku Meiro v5 sells 1,056 BDs, DVDs don't rank. R-15 v5 drops below 1k for 920 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Blood-C v5 sells 902 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Past seasons: Tiger&Bunny v9, the final volume, does 21757/1744, a modest increase on v8 wk1, to finish up at 23,501. Total average is currently 25,471, though it'll be getting adjustments for a time and v9 has a few weeks left in it. Steins v8 jumps in with 13,412, a better first week than v6 or v7, though that probably means it'll have a smaller second week. Gintama' v7 sells 10,519. AoEx v8 has a much better first week this time at 3452/4539 for 7,991, a 12.6% increase. However v7 got a 1.6k adjustment in DVD alone in the monthly rankings, so we'll see how v8 compares there. Nichijou v8 does 1,864 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Gosick v10 gets 1,676 BDs, DVDs don't rank. Hanasaku v7 adds 851 BDs, total 7,704. OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc: Onegai Teacher gets 3,276 first week, not bad. Wonder how many of those were riding on interest in AnoNatsu. No new v1s next week, then Gundam AGE, then nothing until Fate/Zero. Some Winter v1s actually start before Fate releases. Link to TV anime top-sellers list Link to Vol. 1 Sales by Season

With Berserk though, it's not a bad adaption in my mind, but it does seem rather watered down compared to the manga, so I can see why only the hardest of the hardcore would be willing to buy it nowadays. |

Due to it's behaviour on Amazon I expected it to do 5k maybe 6k. Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised as Infinite Stratos sold tons more and that was a worse series. But even then Infinite Stratos shown signs of being an incredibly good seller because of it's various rankings on different sites from what I remember, Guilty Crown didn't. Maybe the Supercell music CD which came with vol. 1 made people buy it. |

Why won't you add gdgd Fairies? It's an anime too, a 3D though...
And I'm quite a fan of it ![]() Guilty Crown has also surprised me, because I've expected it to sell around 7,5-8k judjing from the stalker. Well, I hope that it will keep above 10k border. Last edited by Chipp12 : 01-31-2012 at 08:20 AM. |

Volume 2 has 「SOUNDTRACK ANOTHER SIDE 01」which is more music, some of which is composed by Ryo like on the actual soundtrack which was released in stores. That and people actually enjoy this series unironically it turns out. So what seems to of happened is that they've released an actual soundtrack but held tracks back so they could release the music with the BD's. |

No fifth week for Horizon v1? I'm sad. Although v2 starting higher than v1 makes me feel better.
I really thought Last Exile would sell less than 1k. 3k is nothing to make a fuss about, but at least it's not the last one on the list. Finally, i don't get all the hate Guilty Crown gets on /a/. Is it because of the cliche ridden high school episodes? And the last episode has been so good, i see no reason now to not stick to it till the end. |
