I was planning to catch up on the Hanairo Notebooks this week and have all 8 that were released finished, but Amazon hasn't shipped my copy out yet. It's the only item in the order and is in "shipping soon" status. I'm beginning to believe they don't want me to order from them anymore.

Have you had it pre-ordered for a long time, or did you just recently tell Amazon that you wanted it? I'm not sure if that was the problem for me with my Denpa Onna 7 order (along with several other in-stock discs, but they were split off and shipped separately), but that disc spent a few days as "shipping soon". I'd placed that order on or the day before the Denpa Onna 7 release date.

Amazon can often be hard to figure out, especially their recent shipping policies. ^_^

I'm sick of Amazon. I ordered all 9 volumes on April 4th of last year, the very first day (and likely within a couple hours of the listing) they were available on the site. They split all 9 releases into different shipments as was the custom then. It's infuriating that they have had this item in their warehouses since Sunday (they sent one to TMSIDR that day) and yet can't find a way to ship one to someone who's had it on order for over 10 months and is the only item in this shipment (picture taken this morning; I'm in the UTC-5 timezone). I'm refusing to use Amazon unless it's either an item where EMS would be too expensive (ie Saki BD-Box) or it's the only option. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I sure hope it will ship ASAP... Wonder what is happening with yours...

Yeah... I ordered mine in July so it has nothing to do with that... You are so unlucky and that 2 volumes in a row...

That it does. You can read about them here.

Not that it make aaaany difference, but an order that I placed back in mid-September contained v.4-9, along with a few other things. Volumes four through eight appear to have shipped out a day before their release date. How will #9 fare? I'll have to wait a month, I guess. Hopefully just as well as the others...

Ordering date is pointless. Otherwise my order would've shipped out on Sunday's like TMSIDR's instead of just now. (We ordered around the same time, but he also ordered Nichijou) Both you and Damius placed orders way after mine, yet yours ship either at the same time or ahead of mine. I ordered the same item on two different orders last year and the latter one shipped out earlier from a different distribution center. Amazon's computer doesn't make sense in this respect.

Default Volume 9 Full Details

All good things must come to an end, and as such, the final volume of Hanasaku Iroha was solicited today on the official listings. Volume 9 features all of the Kissuisou staff on the front cover as well as a couple other important characters. Included on this (cheaper) set is episodes 25 and 26.

Included on this disc are the two standard commentary types: character commentary on episode 26 by Ohana (CV Kanae Itou), Minko (CV Chiaki Omigawa) and Nako (CV Aki Toyosaki) plus TWO staff commentaries. The first is on episode 25 by the episode directors Takefumi Anzai and Heo Jong as well as line producer Mitsuhito Tsuji while the second takes place over the final episode with Supervisor Masahiro Ando, producer Kenji Horikawa, and producer Takayuki Nagatani. Video extras include a Yuwaku Bonbori Festival recollection feature as well as a collection of all of the Kissuisou messages that were played if you called the number featured in episode 1.

Included in the LE BD is the final artbox, which is designed to hold all 9 of the Hanairo notebooks. Speaking of said notebooks, the final notebook contains messages from the staff and cast, reports on the Yuwaku Bonbori Festival and Hanairo Event, and a roundtable with Supervisor Masahiro Ando and Producer Kenji Horikawa.
