Things are not looking very good for this series (before this the DVD Part 2 was delayed indefinitely).

There is a delay as the title is not doing as well as we hoped. We are now speaking with the licensor and hope to come to terms that will work for everyone.

Its probably not doing that well becasue most people are holding out for the Blu-ray, instead of buying those DVD set, which only have like 6 or so eps on each... I know i am.

Just hurry up and release the BD's Media Blasters!!!
The series will do well if you offer a HD release!

If only they had release both formats simultaneous... but I don't see any chances for it now...

I totally would have (and still will) buy the dual language BD release they were (are?) planning. Just like I would do with any other company, I'm not getting a DVD release as long as I know a BD release is possible (Code Geass, Darker Than Black S1).

Well this is the catch 22 for MB I guess. I won't buy season 1 unless I know they'll release season 2, yet they won't release season 2 unless people buy season 1...
I currently have the BD for season 1 pre-ordered, but I'm now considering cancelling it.

Any news on when the second DVD volume of Bakuman comes out?

Truth is though, the first one just did not sell and for us to continue to release it we are trying to get the licensor to understand what the US market has become so till than on hold. Not dead...

Well time is ticking by and the Blu-Ray part 1 is still slated for May according to both Amazon and RightStuf. So we can hope they are releasing it as planned to see how well it goes compared to the DVD.
