Default Aniplex/Amazon preorder listing issues

This has come up in a few other threads but it's continuing to spread so I believe it deserves its own thread to track this. R2 is probably more immediately relevant than Retail, so here it is.

So far we know that Nisemonogatari and Persona 4 have had all future volumes besides the next one delisted and/or made unavailable for order. I still don't think they're back even though Nise Vol. 1 comes out in a week and a half.

Now it's happening to Aniplex's upcoming boxsets. Here's the Yaraon article that alerted me to this: http://yaraon.blog109.fc2.com/blog-entry-8778.html

And here's the new delistings:
Kannagi BD Box - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0071WQP04
Hidamari Sketch BD Box - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007KIS3CW
Hidamari Sketch x365 BD Box - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007KIQT7S

If you come across any others or have any information as to what the hell is going on, please share here.

Edit: Oh there's a post later that lists more, I think these were mentioned in their individual threads too.

Natsu-iro Kiseki v1 - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007RJMO42
Kimi to Boku. 2 v1 - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007SBFRIO

Hey y'all I've got emails out with Amazon Japan and Aniplex. I'll let you know what I hear!

Wait, I thought this was fixed up, but instead it's just now worse?

Makes me rather glad I almost never use Amazon JP for my orders.

Could Aniplex Japan be having problems? Though I find it hard to believe considering how much money they make off the real big hits. Maybe a merger is happening or something.

BTW, are these out of stock at other places like CDJapan? I noticed with Durarara!! it's still on CDJapan for pre-order.

Also, noticed the "Quantity Left: 1" is gone for Fate/Zero on CDJapan. Though it's sold out on Amazon Japan, and of course, the new copies are going for inflated prices.

It has now been nearly two weeks since this issue began. This is getting worrisome.

Some thoughts occured to me, particularly after seeing Superdry comment about discount changes at HMV. I wonder if Aniplex is having a dispute with Amazon to change the discounts their products are given. It seems like Amazon has a standard way it works for DVDs/BDs, so its unlikely Amazon would be able and willing to change their system to single out Aniplex titles for lower discounts.

But there's a way around that. And its not good for us if that's what they're doing, because it would also cause them to not ship those volumes overseas. Hell, maybe that's even at least part of the reason they're doing it.

The discount changes at HMV make no sense because earlier in the year they were at the normal rate. Late last year it was the same thing...discount dropped, but a few months earlier discount was normal. I have no clue why this happens.

I should sift through my old orders, but I remember Aniplex titles being discounted 23% before it changed to a max of 20%.

I thought the same thing about Aniplex forcing or talking to Amazon about changing their discounts when this came up a few weeks ago, but didn't feel like saying anything since I sort dismissed that idea. But, it is certainly within the realm of possibility.

I'm amused that while I was writing that post, referring to your post in the HMV thread a while back, you were writing this (compare the timestamps).

But just as Amazon has no interest in making any chances to their listings/policies to help international customers because we're too few to matter, I also don't expect them to make any distributor-specific system changes even indirectly targeted at blocking us either, for the same reason.

But who knows. So much of what I (and anime fans in general it seems) buy is Aniplex, and if anything were done to increase prices across the board on their stuff, I would end up having to cut my seasonal imports by at least 1, maybe 2 full shows (from 4-7 a season), and it would fuck my orders up tremendously to have to suffer HMV or CDJapan's policies and prices.

Wish they'd just straighten this shit out.

A few of them are:

・Aniplex didn't permit Amazon to sell the BDs that cheap.
・Since Amazon impudently demanded to lower the cost price, Aniplex flew into a rage.

I wonder what took so long for Aniplex to have a dispute with Amazon if that is really the case.
