VocaloGemini is the first Exit Tunes compilation album specifically for the Kagamines, and I was wondering how it would sell. First week ended up being quite good, with the only higher first weeks for an Exit Tunes compilation being in the main all-Vocaloid (but Miku mostly) compilations like genesis, nexus, anthems, dream, legend, etc. Gemini saw better first week sales than the Gumi or Gakupo albums (the highest of which was Gumitive which did 8915 first week), although Gumism had very strong long term sales and went over 31k.
I haven't liked as many Rin/Len songs as Miku, Luka or Gumi songs, but I appreciate them enough to have picked this album up, and preordered Junky's solo Rin album 'Rink" at the same time. What? Awesome. I should buy that album at some point. There is just way too much vocaloid stuff to follow...I really need to live in a suspended time if I want to thoroughly dig through vocaloid material.
Thanks to Project Mirai...I've been introduced to the awesomeness of Scop. I totally love and adore his Doubutsu Uranai song.

Week 1, April 16 - 22
http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=432465 24, *4,405 *4,405 DECO*27 "Yumeyume" I admit, I'm surprised this didn't sell much more. DECO*27 + promoted in the March concerts and only moved 4.4k? Huh. I wasn't expecting Tell Your World-level sales but I figured 10k wouldn't have been unexpected. Still, even Sekiranun Graffiti/Fallin' Fallin' Fallin only moved 9k total. I guess Vocaloid singles just aren't a thing that sells much. Week 2, April 23 - 29 http://vocaloid.blog120.fc2.com/blog-entry-11720.html 90, **,983 *5,388 DECO*27 "Yumeyume" Any further updates will be reflected in the main sales post.

The following Exit Tunes compilations have been certified as Gold Discs (100,000 units shipped): EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocalogenesis EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocalonexus EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocaloanthems The most recent tallies from Oricon for these are: 84,372 - EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocalogenesis [05/31/2010] 81,485 - EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocalonexus [01/31/2011] 75,010 - EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocaloanthems [09/27/2010] Even though shipped != sold, this does show how strongly they've been selling over time. For a May 2010 release to go Gold in March 2012 implies high continued interest, since they need to keep shipping more. I'm guessing Vocalodream (58,072, still ranking weekly, Jan 2012 release) will be next.

The March 2012 concert BDs are up!
Release Date: 8/29/2012 - 3/08, MikuPa ¥6,300 - 3/09, Kanshasai ¥6,300 - Live CD, both days ¥3,999 - Complete set, BDs for both days + CD ¥15,540 Oh boy, buying the complete set saves you a whole ¥60 off MSRP! [Edit: oops make that ¥1,059 less, small font + strikeout = Amazon 9s look like 0s. CD is ¥3999 not ¥3000]I will, of course, be buying the last one there.

Does anyone have any recommendations for concerts which are available on BD? I don't really mind the tracklist as I enjoy pretty much all of the music they tend to play at these concerts, I just want a visually stunning performance. I recall hearing of one that happened last year (I think it was last year) which has blown everything away to date visually. I wish I knew the name of it. |

Mikupa 2012, the one being sold here, looked really great too, and really it's mostly the same concert with a few tweaks to the setlist. Both MikuPa and Kanshasai have both been similar to their first incarnations from concert to concert. I guess in some ways they've all improved each time, but Mikupa 2011 Sapporo still wins for me. The only one that you could call in any way bad is MikuPa 2011 Tokyo (the negative reception is why it got a much better re-do in Sapporo) and then mostly because they used comparatively low-tech models and a really ugly projection screen, which was a huge letdown after everyone had been blown away by the first major concert (the 2010 Kanshasai) with the clear screen. I honestly tried to watch it but couldn't see any point in doing so, although it does have the most extensive setlist of all - but I think a lot of that is just medley. Sapporo totally fixed that and went back to the clear screen, and also has the second screen up top, which I have mixed feelings about but have gotten used to by now (and it was amazing for Gekishu). In summary, there are 5 major concerts available on BD, 3 Sega, 2 5pb: Kanshasai 2010 (Sega, Tokyo) - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B003S9U5CS MikuPa 2011 (5pb, Tokyo & Sapporo) - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B005GYS8RC Kanshasai/Mikunopolis 2011 (Sega, Los Angeles) - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B005JW5PD6 MikuPa & Kanshasai 2012 (Both, Tokyo) - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007WRV512 * Mikupa 2012 (5pb, Tokyo) - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007WRV526 * Kanshasai 2012 (Sega, Tokyo) - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B007WRV53A You can't go wrong with any of them, though I guess Kanshasai 2010 doesn't have much advantage over Mikunopolis or Kanshasai 2012, which are mostly the same but a little upgraded. I'm still torn on which Kanshasai is best. I will say Kashsasai 2012's encore was not up to par with any of the other concerts listed here, which hurts it for me. Some weird thing with human dancers + repeating a song, urgh. If not for that I would wholeheartedly say Kanshasai 2012 is the best one. MikuPa is amazing in both 2011 Sapporo and 2012 versions. I definitely have to give MikuPa the nod. My ideal concert would be MikuPa + the Luka/Miku duets from Kanshasai + Ai Kotoba in the encore.

Packaging is up. Major focus on the humans behind it, which is interesting, but appropriate.
