Vol. 2 finally became orderable again a few hours ago, and shot back into the top 30. It doesn't actually restock until the 27th though, so this won't help sales numbers any. What a seemingly botched distribution job. I wonder what volume they'll get their act together by.

It's actually quite annoying because I feel like I need to place my orders earlier and earlier in the month, and since it gets deactivated immediately on release and stays that way for weeks, I can't easily cancel and reorder if I forgot something. I missed at least one Vocaloid CD I'd meant to add to my April Amazon order, which is annoying, because now I won't get it until the end of May. Hell I'm considering placing my May order before the month even begins. Mouretsu hasn't gone off the site before release day yet but who knows?

And v2 projected points for 05/09 is 10075. If it ends up selling anywhere near that number it means v1 still has a loooong way to go.

Oh, and seems like Nyaruko's sudden rise in the chart wasn't a fluke. It has been in the top 20 for what, six days now? And not only that, but vols 2,3,4 have risen after episode 2 aired.

Soundscan numbers are up...

Note, Soundscan numbers are virtually always higher, sometimes a lot higher, than Oricon. But they certainly give some hope that Mouretsu v1 will indeed rank again, possibly significantly, and add a good amount in cumulative sales. 8.2k soundscan is probably no more than 6.5-7k Oricon I guess... we don't see enough SS numbers to really compare.

Fingers crossed. Guess I'll know how it did when I wake up tomorrow!

Mouretsu sees a bump but I'm still doubtful that this is its full sales.


Winter update:
PapaKiki DVD v1 sells 379. Umm, right, this one was quite confusing because it's 5 BDs and 4 DVDs, with DVD v1 having 3 episodes, while BD v1 has 1 and BD v2 has 3. So DVD v1 is 1/3rd v1 and 2/3rds v2 as far as BD goes. So do I add the DVD numbers to v1 or v2, and if I use v1 what do I do with v5 BD... argh. Honestly I'm inclined to count DVD v1 as connected to BD v2, because then releases are aligned from here on out. Yeah I'm gonna do that. Man, DVD could have just not ranked like Mouretsu and made things easier on me.
So BD v2 sells 2735, a large but not as large as it could be drop, and the total of DVD v1 + BD v2 is 3,114.

Mouretsu v2 starts at 5,343 BDs, DVDs do not rank.
v1 finally returns, adding 1284 in for 6,472 total. Note that this is only its fourth week making the Oricon BD threshold (the full threshold, not the Top 50). It looks like only one week of the three gap weeks made the Top 100 (or 300 or whatever it is), which means it sold 600 in week 3, then did not make the rankings at all in weeks 4 or 5. I guess it was just that completely sold out, so there wasn't much to add in the period while it wasn't ranking, sadly.
As noted above I'm skeptical that this is its full sales potential. v2 was out of stock most of its release week. v1 is still out of stock some places and was only restocked for a day or two of this reporting period. It's in-stock and still in the top 100 at Amazon, but I fear we won't see it again next week. Next week isn't exceptionally busy, but it's busy enough that whatever Mouretsu v1 will add might not make the threshold unless it's more than I expect. v2 might not rank either, as it's not getting restocked until the 27th. ...Well, there's always volume 3. >_>

Amagami SS+ v1 adds 368 BDs, total 4,888.

Danshi Koukousei v1 adds 307 DVDs, total 3,694


Fall update:
Fate/Zero adds 315 in week 6, taking it over 50k to 50,103.

Persona 4 v5 adds 375 BDs, total 27,437.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:

When is Tsuritama going to be listed for preordering? It has become my favorite show of the season so I want to know how well will it fare.

I just realized Lupin isn't listed either. Could it be because both of them will be the last two shows to go on sale?

A few Aniplex titles aren't available for ordering on Amazon Japan yet for an unknown reason. They're listed, but not available for order Tsuritama being one of them and Nisemonogatari, Durarara!! Blu-ray Box and Natsui-iro Kiseki to name a few more.

It's here on HMV though if you want to order it there as a "just in case anything goes wrong."

As MelancholicMariya indicated, there's an Aniplex/Amazon problem right now. See here for updates. It only affects their BD releases. The Tsuritama DVDs can be ordered, not that anyone in their right mind imports DVDs these days.

And yeah, the longer these issues go, the more useless Stalker's estimates for all of those volumes will be. Ah well.

It makes me wonder how these BD's will rank on Amazon once they're back up for preorder. I imagine all Nisemonogatari BD's will suddenly shoot to the top and maybe we'll see Natsu and Tsuritama up there too?

Oh, so that's the reason Natsuiro is soooo low in the rankings? Because it's listed but not available for order? I was surprised to see v1 in the 98k spot. I don't think I've ever seen a BD ranking so low, so I deducted it might had to do with distribution problems rather than people having no interest in the show.
