It has been like that from the very beginning: link. FUNimation poorly worded the PR and very many people misinterpreted (and jumped to conclusion).

I have heard so many different versions of this, it's never the exact same one. The key time frame to watch for is when Fam, the Silver Wing gets released. If it doesn't get released by then, it probably won't be.

What!

FUNi was really harping on the fact that they got the HD video for Season Four of One Piece. That is extremely lame...
HD video as in the 16:9 video. No other country other than Japan has gotten the 16:9 aspect ratio video for the HD episodes. HD doesn't mean they have Blu-ray rights at all, and it'd be almost insane to allow Funi to have Blu-ray rights to One Piece while Toei is releasing DVD-Boxes in Japan, too.

I definitely find this one funny...and not in a good way at all.

This perhaps is a good sign that a S1 re-release for Shakugan no Shana may be coming sooner rather than later.

It remains to be seen if FUNimation will release S1 in Blu-ray though. HD streaming doesn't always equate to a Blu-ray release (as seen from the Mushi-Shi example below).

A trailer is now up: LINK. I guess the 7/24/12 release date may be right after all (for now).

Armitage III's series site is now up @ FUNimation.com (http://www.funimation.com/armitage-iii).

These are listed (for those are unsure):
  • Armitage III (OVAs 1-4)
  • Poly Matrix (Compilation)
  • Dual Matrix (Sequel)

Seeing the copyright, we pretty much got the reason why this release was delayed so many times.

Would like to add for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt a special was included on the 5th JP BD though not confirmed if Funi will have it included on the release.

We Without Wings - Under the Innocent Sky also has an OVA but not confirmed if it will be included.

Blessing of the Campanella also had 6 specials in total (Bath Time specials) on each of the JP BD release, the OVA was a seperate JP BD release that also included a special which is a combination of all 6 specials in 1. These again have yet to be confirmed to be included by Funi.

First post formally updated once more. We are getting a slightly better picture what the rest of the year could be like. Let's see if FUNimation can keep up the pace of 3 to 4 new releases (from the list) per month.

A couple notes...
  • [C] - Control - The Money and Soul of Possibility - this might have been pushed back; noted as a late 2012 / early 2013 release @ Anime Boston
  • Fafner - would this re-release be pushed back?...there is supposedly a JP BD-Box coming in the near future. And would this affect when the movie will be released?
  • Guilty Crown - originally noted as a 2011 release...there is 0% chance that will happen as JP's last home video release is late November.

Official series site for Serial Experiments Lain (http://www.funimation.com/serial-experiments-lain) is now up. The first two subbed episodes are currently streaming for EVS members as well.
