Episode 2:

- And why is Neito suddenly as flat as Masazumi? I know she's not really busty but it fluctuates too much!
- Broken foot and a king-killing curse for Neshinbara. He's in a bad way.
- Gacchan! She's physically unhurt but awwwwwwwww, she's disappointed with herself for not being able to win her fight and put Margot at ease. Cutest goddamned couple. <3 Wish we would see them together some this season though.

I feel like this show has the most eclectic magic system of anything I've seen. Most other magic/technology systems seem to have a fairly obvious unifying element. But in Horizon, it's like, shit, anything and everything goes. And it ends up being awesome for it.

I don't think I want to know what kind of unholy pact the author (and probably the anime creators too.... hell, them even moreso for condensing those stupidly huge novels into the limits of anime) made in order to pull this off.

Heh, it's still a mess half the time, but a really fun mess rather than an annoying mess. I don't know if it hurts or helps that it prioritizes "How can we make this fight even more ridiculous?" over "How can we clearly explain why a fight is happening?" Maybe it helps.

- Jump at Horizon wearing a seaweed loincloth and get punched in the groin.
- Even while sleeping, Muneshige still can dodge those butcher knives.
- Tenzo, pulling out swords with the scarred one. Sounds like an easy task.
- And the cloak comes off. Tenzo, you are so lucky to get so close to a cute, busty blonde.
- So the cloaked one is Bloody Mary, who escaped from prison? Seems to me that she is.
- In comes Charles Howard, begging them to save England.
- And now, negotiations over meat and stuff begin. Enough to last a month, but spoils in two weeks.
- Let's not do business, and it leads to a nosebleed.
- How about a joint school festival? Now let's negotiate on the length of time.
- 14 days against 3 days? Sides are quite far apart there.
- Triple Axel Dogeza Bow! Shirojiro had that up his sleeve.
- 13 days it is. And Suzu becomes the ambassador.

This is another great episode here, and it looks like Tenzo has fallen for Mary that led to a cute scene. She is really cute, but she has to wear that cloak and act like a man out in the open. Then there was Heidi acting all cute through the negotiation process while Suzu was being her usual moeblob self. While Tori has stripped down again, at least it leads to that scene where Horizon hits him where it hurts like crazy. And Charles was acting really funny at the negotiations and prone to getting nosebleeds. Unlike the negotiation episode in the first season, this one was more understandable about the meat situation and the upcoming war with Tres Espana.

Fuck yes, the show found something awesome for Suzu to do! She'll finally actually be relevant to the story! And oh god, she's so adorable.

We once again get to witness this show's amazing word battles. Along with a bit of its standard insanity mixed it with the dogeza bow stuff, particularly Shirojiro's Triple Axel Dogeza Bow.

And I loved the IM/IRC-ish conversations. More of those please. Some of the names were amusing.

So I guess the hooded person is supposed to be "Double Bloody Mary", a woman who succeeded both Mary Tudor and Mary I-forget-what, and is scheduled to be executed. I'm a little confused since she's supposed to be locked up in London Tower, but the way the conversation went right before and after her face was revealed sure seems to indicate she's the person they were just talking about. Though her character profile here (which isn't giving her name yet) says something about shackles on her legs, which I didn't notice in the show, so I guess maybe they decided to allow her out for some reason. Or maybe my initial assumption was wrong.

In any case, naturally, she's quite cute and I look forward to more of her.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Fortunately, I rarely spend much time on those kinds of sites, so there probably wasn't much of a risk of that happening, but I have occasionally found the urge to do so and indulged in it. Usually my policy is not do so until an anime has finished, though that's hardly foolproof protection against spoilers since so many shows are adaptations of ongoing series.
