Reunion with Leorio was nice, and got them a good deal too ^^
They brought him up to speed about their recent quest as well.
Gon arm wrestling to raise funds was a typical Leorio idea.
Kurapika having a heart-to-heart with his companion was pretty unusual for him.
Interesting episode. Lots of promise of action next time.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't watched anime (well, other than 2 episodes of Inu Yasha just last night) in over a month! I don't think that's happened in the last 6 1/2 years at least... damn.

:Rewatch episode 35: Yep, still awesome.

Now the rest of the fight. Gon's finally able to give the tag back to Hisoka. Then he explains some stuff about Nen users and personality types, then some stuff about Gyo and bungee gum, then "Oooaa! Gon! Gon! Iii! Oooh!" ...Yeah, that's Hisoka

The ref didn't really need to "save" Gon that way, of course, but he couldn't have known that... And it seems Hisoka intends to fight more seriously next time... Interesting...

And finally that arc is over...

-What a romantic camp out they're having
-"There was only one other kid my age, and she was a girl, so you're my first friend my age". Gon doesn't like being friends with girls...
-They need to learn how to make a campfire. It always looks like that in anime- a bunch of sticks in a circle and it's only burning in the middle. And then they put it out and the sticks still aren't burned. That's a really stupid way to have a fire.
-Wait... is that Gon's grandmother, or Mito's... or...? I thought she was Gon's grandmother, but it sounds like she might be his great grandmother...
-Hmm, yeah it seems to be Mito's grandma.
-Nen no tame... sounds weird in this context...
-Next episode looks funny.

It looks weird to see them playing such an old video game on such a new looking TV. The three generations old thing may have been an addition; I don't remember it from last time.

So we finally see the Genei Ryodan again. I wonder whom Hisoka wants to kill more, Gon or the Spider Chief? Pakunoda (I think that's her name) seems a little less ugly than I remembered...

WELL NOW. That was certainly something, wasn't it? Wow. The slow build calmed my expectations a bit, but then this episode just explodes in my face from the very beginning. I don't even know what to think now. But I am very excited.
