13 episodes=singles?

I get where you're coming from for the rest of it, but... what?

Yeah, it's not a single, it's a half season "box". Viz just uses single cases now because they're cheap. The market did move away from singles, but they were replaced by 12-14 episode releases, not complete season sets. Complete season sets on the first round are still quite unusual.

And there's nothing wrong with not buying it and waiting for a complete collection (I might do that myself as long as it's on Toonami), but you shouldn't expect them to release a complete set just because you'd prefer it that way.

To be fair, 13 episodes could technically be considered a "season".

If you're going by seasonal airings in Japan, but even then it's not always the case and/or doesn't really even work. Not to mention Japan never really seems to have any set consistency with "seasons" for their ongoing shows in the first place, instead just opting to split it by certain arcs.

tl;dr anime seasons are weird ass shit

In my younger, more carefree days, I considered a change in opening song to be the absolute definition of a new season. I now see it's not that simple, but it's still often what I use if there's no obviously better separation point.

That is why I now use the term "cour" which means 11-12-13 episodes or a "season" in Japan: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. So, Inuyasha would be 2 cours.

Definitely 2 cour, but I think "season" is debatable. For example Index is usually said to have 2 seasons, which are 2 cour each.

The cover looks alright. It gets the job done at the very least.

So now, they slap on the Neon Alley logo on the front.
