The norm of Blu-ray / DVD Combo LE is MSRP of $69.98. This is $89.98. What can this include? I would assume that there will be a chipboard artbox (or perhaps a fancier one). Maybe an art booklet (sounds more like a TRSI gift item). How about doing another lunchbox for the series? I hope for the $20 MSRP difference, we will see more external bonuses in addition to what's include on disc.

"We've been getting a lot of questions about the Lain Blu-ray, it's not an up-res, it is native HD. They actually went back and remastered the whole series, we even have a 24 page restoration booklet (along with a 320 page artbook) included with our release."

320 pages?! Are they including Lain Illustrations with every page spread out over two or what?

Uh. The big question. How do they remaster the digital portions of Lain WITHOUT upscaling? Surely they didn't add detail that was not there to begin with. So it'd be an upscale either way, right?

And I suppose any parts that used cel animation could be remastered in HD?

Can anyone clarify?

It's the same as the JP BD-Box remastering. Details/images were posted in the thread for it.

I've got the Japanese box, but I don't remember what was in the book. If I remember to do so, I'll look when I get home. ^^;

Heh, the posturing in that thread about whether it'd ever come out in the US is quite amusing in hindsight.
