C'mon now, you've been around long enough that the words "HD remaster" don't mean anything because everyone uses it to mean whatever they want it to. :p

From the twitter posts, they were originally going to do an upscale. Then they found that they still had to original materials (presumably the files in this case) so they're doing re-compositing, which should give a pretty good result.

True enough. I guess I didn't think much of it when made that edit.

Hmm... this is the first BD box I've even slightly considered in a long time... probably since Soul Eater... Re-composited for good video quality, includes the OVA that the R1 left out, hopefully won't have the audio issues the R1 did, I don't really like the dub and I've seen it enough times that I shouldn't really need subs...

But I'm still probably too cheap. That and importing doesn't seem as alluring to me as it used to. But who knows, maybe if it's cheaper than usual and I can get a decent price for my R1 box set I'll buy it.

I'd actually consider this if it had subs. But I doubt it will.

And if it had subs, would the OVA had subs as well...?

Not unless they either rip some from the fansubs, or create new ones. So Probably not. The Rahxephon BD set for example has both the subs and the dub for everything except the OVA.

Yeah, Lucky Star would be another example and the subs were available for that one.

Wow, it's surprising that they're going to that much trouble since I don't think this series was a very big seller in Japan (looks like an average of about 2,000 per volume: http://dvdbd.wiki.fc2.com/wiki/%E3%8...83%BC%E3%83%88 ). I wish all pre-HD digitally animated shows would get this treatment instead of just being upscales.
