That scene probably made a lot of people go WTF. Maybe he's a super tech-kid in the real world - I wonder if that is explained any where in the future.

Now, Kirito was able to save Yui's data to his Nerv Gear, but what happens after the game is complete? Sure, they have the data, but how useful is that unless you can somehow transfer the data to another program or there is another program that can read that information.
I don't remember the particulars, but it seemed like she mentioned she is the one that accessed the terminal, and then he said something like he used her access, that was still open (until he got kicked out by admin). Would it take super haker skillz to type out "save this file in this directory?"

Now, if he had hacked into the terminal from scratch by himself, that would have made me roll my eyes.
The problem here is that he did something that seems way outside of what the system should have allowed anyone to do. So unless Yui had already done all sorts of hacking for him, he should have needed to do a lot more than click a few buttons to do a standard process.

Perhaps. I'm not really sure what someone with system admin access would be able to do or not do. But, since I didn't know, I didn't right it off as being totally impossible. It did allow Yui to totally erase a boss mob. But, as for just for file access, /shrug

On an only slightly related note, I remember back when I played eq, there were stories of a gm on another server going berserk and randomly porting people to the highest level raid zone, and then binding them there so they'd get stuck in a death loop. I always wondered if that story was true.

Import DD' and/or YRYR♪♪ now, buy BD boxsets of the first seasons later. =P I'm sure they'll get them eventually...
I think I prefer to wait for BD boxsets to be release for both seasons for each, like that I would be able to support both of them. 3 shows (with Kokoro Connect (my third favorite)) this season would be a little too much, since I will have to import couple of boxsets soon.
And I changed my mind couple hours later... Hello DD and DD'... So, no more chance of importing SAO now.

Default Episode 13

Oh, so we get to keep the first OP and ED for another episode. Considering this appears to be the beginning of another arc, or at least continues into the next episode, I'm surprised to see that, since I imagine they'll have to change it next time.

Well the first half of the episode was about as far from what the title indicated as I could possibly expect. I found it amusing that the fishing guy was voiced by the same seiyuu as the most similar guy in last season's fishing anime. Then, the situation suddenly did a complete 180, and now we're back to the brutal slaughter we expected. And the title of the next episode... will that be even MORE brutal? I can't imagine it will actually be the "end of the world" quite yet.

Kirito made an interesting friend.
Guess fishing is not Kirito's thing.
The big game fishing turned into a fight pretty fast!
Asuna she showed that fish who's boss.
Getting called back to fight on the front lines again was good.
It was about time for some serious action!
That skeleton boss was insanely strong!!
Looks like Kirito & Asuna will need to boost their levels if the plan on winning against other, stronger bosses.

Fishing? We spend the first third(?) of the episode on fishing and it was rather amusing. I loved Asuna's face when Nishida mentioned about the giant fish. And, of course the reaction of everybody when the giant fish arrived - good humor. I dunno if it felt forced or not that Asuna took care of the thing while everyone was still shocked - Kirito sort of didn't really care.

Speaking of him, we see that the vacation is having effect on Kirito - why not? It's an easy quiet life thats totally different from what he's use to doing in the game. Glad that Asuna is sort of the voice of reason here during his doubts (especially when she got annoyed when he asked her to stay behind). The dynamics of the couple work nicely here. The bedroom scene was cute (and hnnngg for her sleepwear).

The battle though at end was pretty nice. That is one crazy ass boss that can kill in one-shot. But, really good to see all our familiar faces working as a team to try and take it down. Can't wait to see how the battle goes next week...ugh cliffhanger.

- /fish
-But soy sauce was supposed to be your little secret Kirito! This is like adultery. But with condiments.
-The Tale of the Wopper.
-That is Dagon's ugliest child.
-Asuna the Fish Slayer.
-Dawww happily married Asuna is so sweet.
-Being married makes Asuna emotionally stronger and Kirito weaker. Heh.
-LEEROY JENKINS!
-THREE SWORD STYLE!

I think this is the most comedy and most death in a SAO episode yet. Strange mix, kinda works. Bet Asuna & Kirito really wish they'd skipped the last adventure and brought Yui with them this time. "Yui wants to come with you. Yui can fight like mommy. Like a boss."

Aaaaaargh, CGI monster. ;_;

The fight against was pretty awesome though. Finally, Asuna gets to contribute to a serious fight. And at least so far, she's able to be as useful as uber-players like Kirito and Heathcliffe.

That "Remember when" thing about players being disconnected was rather awkward though. Wish that had been kept in and shown when it happened. Would have been one less really stupid complaint to listen to during earlier episodes.

I'm 90% certain that this is, in fact, the point in the novel where that was brought up.

Yep.

Also FAO lacked Yoshimoto Underoob, making it the inferior fishing episode of the season.

Really? That's.... very odd. I wasn't going to blame the writer for this since I figured it was one of the things the anime cut (as it sounds like a lot of details were removed from the anime) but I guess I can/have to blame it on him after all. Either way, doesn't make it less odd to suddenly bring up here for the first time or mean that it wouldn't have dealt with one of the dumber complaints had it been mentioned early on.
