Default Seven Seas licenses The Sacred Blacksmith (Yamada Koutarou/Miura Isao) manga adaptation

(Via ANN)

Quote:
North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment confirmed with ANN on Wednesday that it has licensed Isao Miura and Kōtarō Yamada's The Sacred Blacksmith fantasy manga series.

Seven Seas describes the story as follows:

Like her father and grandfather before her, Cecily Campbell has entered the knighthood and joined the ranks of the Knight Guards of Houseman. Eager to do her heritage proud and defend her city, Cecily rushes to the marketplace to stop a madman from terrorizing the populace. She quickly realizes, however, that she is hopelessly outmatched and ill-prepared for an actual fight. A lone figure named Luke Ainsworth swoops to the rescue, a swordsman and blacksmith of much renown, who will repair the broken sword Cecily has inherited from her father and take her down a road of perilous adventure beyond her wildest dreams.
The manga, which adapts Miura's original light novel series, currently runs in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive anthology. Media Factory released the manga's seventh compiled volume in August. Seven Seas will release each volume with color inserts for US$12.99.

Tokyopop previously held the rights to the manga series but did not release it before the company shut down in 2011.

Miura's light novel series also inspired a 2009 television anime series. Funimation released the anime series in a boxset last year.

As I just said about "Zero's Familiar", I enjoyed the first anime series enough that I will definitely try the first volume of the manga.

Seven Seas really is competing with Yen to be my favorite manga publisher.

I didn't really like the anime ending, so it could be interesting to read the manga.
