Does this show have an actual long term plot line? I'm guessing not since it's so long, but I would have guessed the same thing about One Piece based on episode count, so...

Default Episode 1

Jojo's spotlight got hijacked the moment Dio stepped foot on their estate.
He was just too naive and good-hearted..
That Dio truly turned his life into Hell.
Erina & his dog were the only things he had left.
Seeing Jojo snap was kinda refreshing.
This looks interesting, will give it a few more episodes.

I briefly thought I would like Dio more than the little "I want to be a great gentleman!" twerp Jojo, but holy christ, he's an incredible asshole.

Beyond that, the show was just dumb. And boy, Erina sure was a cute little male-character-arc-building plot device, wasn't she?

I was going to give this show one more chance to get to the absurd fights and give me something worth watching, but apparently I should expect another 5-6 episodes of this before the insanity comes. And apparently I should expect more animal cruelty. Fuck that. I'm done.

Well the crazy stuff begins next episode, there's no more Jonathan and Dio childhood past this episode. Though yeah JoJo isn't exactly lighthearted in any sense of the word. No dog is safe.

Default Re: Episode 1

-1868. England. Sherlock Holmes is 14 years old. Will he solve the Case of The Collapsed Carriage?
-Lord Joestar meets his savior, his thief, Dario Brando. So begins a generations long family conflict.
-1880. Sherlock is old enough to drink, and Joestar's son has grown into a fine lad.
-Dio Brando on the other hand as a cranky old bastard who isn't dying fast enough as a father. Or he his grandfather?
-Doll fetishists who look under toy skirts have existed for a long long time.
-Jonathan Joestar's kind of a weakling. Noble & gentlemanly, but definitely a pussy.
-This is very Dickensian. In a more manly angry kind of way. Dio will kick Miss Havisham's ass!

-The Destroyer, Dio! Well that episode title cuts right to the chase.
-Ridiculous posing has begun! :D Nice leap Dio.
-"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Ahahahahaha. Oh yeah. The animators know why we're here.
-AHAHAHAHA! He kicked the puppy. Dio does not fuck around. He lets you know he's the villain of the series in under 30 seconds.
-These boys are rather large buff 12 year olds. With such manly eyebrows.
-Jojo: "I wanna be friends." Dio: "Screw you rich boy. I'm number one!"
-No beating around the bush at all. Dio is going to pound Jojo's face in-- I mean have a nice friendly box match in the first episode. Heh.
-Dio just invented the Dempsy Roll. You will never be this awesome Jojo.

-Anatomically correct anime dog.
-Romance! You know guys Paris is romantic. You should go visit. Wander around. Visit a nice shopping gallerie. Meet a cute little girl in a kimono.
-is this how 12 year olds fall in love in the 19th century? Is this what a 12 year old books like in a bathing suit in the 19th Century?
-Did Dio go shopping in China? That's a strange but cool shirt there kid.
-SEXUAL ASSAULT!
-"HE DID IT!" Heh.
-Jojo: "If I don't take a stand, I'll be living in Dio's shadow." Heh.
-Silly Dio. Yes you are a much more skilled fighter than Jojo is. But you made him very angry and unpredictable. You ended up making him a much dirtier fighter.
-BLOOD! The Stone Mask craves blood!
-"Jojo! Stop beating up my beautiful son! I love Dio more than you."
-Bad butler! Check the contents of the rubbish before burning. Jeeves would spit on your incompetence.
-Suddenly a narrator? Get the hell away man. We don't need you.
-YES! Well that ending theme isn't going to make it through any licensing.

Huh. That's rare. Lots of notes for an episode I actually enjoyed. Usually I can only find things to chatter about endlessly with bad shows. Jojo you are a bizarrely wonderful miracle.

Wow! Jojo certainly grew up, so did Dio.
I was surprised to see Jojo and Dio get along.
Well, looks like they were just faking it...
The mask finally showed it's true face!
It's a vampire making mask, pretty cool.
Things are really getting interesting.

-1888. Sherlock Holmes has just begun working with Dr Watson. The game is afoot.
-Oh Jack the Ripper. Hold the presses I know who that is. Mr Hyde!
-Huh. Odd CG animation in the OP. It looks like they took it straight from an early PS3 video game. The fantastic song that feels like it came right out of an early 80s anime saves it.
-"Football" in England but he's using his hands... um either this is rugby or uh... The history of "football" is far to confusing for Google to solve.
-Jojo & Dio are a two man rugby team. Wait shouldn't Jojo still hate Dio? He killed your dog man! Hmm okay he does, but only in a vague form of distrust.
-Dio is a law student. OF COURSE he's a lawyer.
-Poisoning your "father". Dio that's such a historically feminine way to kill someone. Silly boy.
-Gentlemanly Honor Combat!
-Railing kill!... sorta. Well not the kill part.

-Jojo is cosplaying as a muscley 90s Sherlock Holmes action figure.
-It's a cat eat dog world.
-London street toughs are like rejected Street fighter characters.
-Ario Speedwagon? Oh right I keep forgetting the mankaga loves old music.
-Gentlemanly Combat prevails!
-Aww poor Dio is an alcoholic like his grandfatherly looking father.
-That's no stone torture mask. It's a vampire engine!
-Ancient Mayan mask vampires follow the same old vampire rules it seems. Sunlight equals dust.

Jojo has the best over the top bizarre adventures.

Continues to be wonderfully over-the-top, now with super-powered vampires!

Also, it was cool to hear the intro to Roundabout used in the end and lead right into the ED sequence.

Dio's totally playing Jojo.
That kid is so naive it's ridiculous!
Dio on the other hand is rotten to the core.
I'm glad Jojo's father finally got to see real Dio.
Once again Dio took something precious from Jojo.
Now he's even a vampire... that's beyond bad.
This was an amazing episode!
