[US] Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up

In regards to the various reports on people able to toggle subtitles on and off with their remote.

I inquired with NISA earlier this evening on the matter. I was told that the release is suppose to have locked subtitles. Any on and off capability on the subtitles would be unintentional. I guess the question now is if NISA will issue a recall on this (and hopefully they don't get into trouble with this).

I really wish all US anime licensors would flat out refuse to ever agree to a locked subtitles arrangement. Not only does it force them as condition of license to cripple the product, but a minor slip up in authoring would leave them on the hook for legal trouble.

This may have to do with the subtitles (since it's suppose to be locked and somehow it got missed). Maybe they are doing another run with locked subtitles?

GHASTLY PRINCE ENMA BURNING UP Premium Edition Sells Out at Wholesale Level

NIS America announced the premium edition of anime series Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up is sold out at the wholesale level. There are currently no plans to release a standard edition of the show, so if you would like to own a copy of the series, place your order for the premium edition today!

Well, so it won't have another run for now anyway... It sold out quite fast.

The folks over at NIS let us know that the recently released Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up Complete Collection DVD/BD Combo Set (Premium Edition) and the Bunny Drop Complete Collection DVD/BD Combo Set (Premium Edition) are both now sold out at wholesale and that no more will be made, so whatever stock we have left (right now we only have around 40ish of each) on these sets will be it. They also said that the second and final pressing of the AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day Complete Collection DVD/BD Combo Set (Premium Edition) that will be arriving around the end of October is also now completely booked to retailers and sold out. We have about 100ish more of those coming out of that final batch, but we will not able to increase our qnty or re-order anymore after that.

More to the point, however, is that they ALSO told us that they are NOT PLANNING to release STANDARD EDITIONS of any of these titles like they have with others in the past, so if you want Enma, Bunny Drop, or Anohana in your collection it looks like the Premium editions will be your only chance.

Get em while you can. Seriously.

I got a reply back from NISA, saying:

Thank you for contacting us and expressing your concern about the standard release for our Anime titles.

It seems that there might have been a misunderstanding at this time. We currently at this time have no plans in action on releasing a Standard edition for the three titles you mentioned in your e-mail, but that does not mean that these will not happen. Normally when we release an Anime in our Store, we always try to do a Premium Edition for each title. After we release this title in the Premium Edition format and after this title has been available for some time we then begin working on a Standard edition for these titles. Unfortunately there has not been enough time has passed since the release of these Premium Editions titles for us to start working on the Standard Edition for these titles.

Once we have any official announcement for any of our anime's Standard editions and begin having these ready for sale, we will be sure to announce them in our Prinny Bomb Newsletter.
