We would have gotten some of that in a monthly list anyway, but not necessarily enough to crack 10k. Oh, and Hyouka passes 10k too! ...in its 4th volume haha. No full list was posted, but from what I'm reading, nothing new was added on Thursday. Unfortunately that means we lack the ranking numbers, but that's the least important part of the list. Summer update: Horizon II v1 adds 298, total 22,254. Won't match season one's 25k v1, but crossing 22k is a nice milestone. Tari Tari v2 adds 852 BDs, total 8,555. v1 adds 296 BDs in wk6, and the cumulative total means 1,404 in wks 3-5, total 10,460. If we got a monthly ranking, it probably would only have covered to week4 at best, or possibly weeks 2-5, which wouldn't have ranked. Depends on the list used and the exact length of the reporting period. This was the perfect week for a super low threshold, as far as TT is concerned. So very lucky. Oda Nobuna v2 adds 424 BDs, total 4,889. That puts it 0.8% ahead of v1's total. Spring update: Fate/Zero part II adds 281, total 45,804. I think it's a given it won't match the first part at the current pace. Still, only 10.8% down is good. KuroBas v3 adds 265 DVDs, total 21,068. Hyouka v4 adds 336 BDs in wk3, total 10,217. Like I asked last week, what kind of show hits 10k for the first time in v4? Pretty awesome... it's just such a shame we probably won't see the numbers for v1-3 which will also obviously have easily passed 10k already. Past seasons: none OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc: Gundam SEED BD Box v3 adds 266 in wk3, which means it did 483 in wk3, total 12,265. 03) ¥*873.9m (21,903 * ¥39,900) - Toradora! 04) ¥*739.5m (35,213 * ¥21,000) - Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED (4 parts: 11,457 + 11,491 + 12,265 + 1 unreleased) 05) ¥*456.7m (12,427 * ¥36,750) - Strike Witches (Two pressings: 7,011 + 5,416) HidaSketch Fandisc adds 301, total 6,143. Next week, Natsuyuki Rendezvous. After that, Sword Art Online and Kokoro Connect. Two weeks after that, Fall starts already with K, though it won't continue for a week weeks after that. Just as a heads up, I've updated most of the fixed ranking threads:
Spring 2012 Vol. 1 Summer 2012 Vol. 1 2000-present 10k+ TV Anime BD Boxsets TV Anime Box Office Gross Sequel sales drops and increases 2011 Average Sales 2012 Average Sales 2012 is set to have a lot less 10k series than 2011, or indeed the last few years. We're only at 4 solid entries. Dog Days' will drop below 10k with Vol. 2, and probably average 7-8k. Hyouka probably won't maintain these rising sales long enough to make it, so I expect it'll be in the 9k range. DxD just missed out, Tari Tari will also be a bit short. SAO will add a fifth solid 10k+ show, but it's up to fall to try to really close the gap a little. It's unclear which if any titles will do it. TLR Darkness is doing quite well, best of the season so far, but I'm still a little skeptical it'll have a final average over 10k. It has a better chance than I would have expected at first though. Little Busters! has a pretty good shot. Jojo is really defying expectations by keeping such a good ranking for so long and for all volumes, but 10k? Over 9 volumes? Mmm, I dunno. Chuunibyou is not quite performing like a 10k series at present. At least not enough that I'd call it obvious. Unless a future episode keeps it top 30-40 continuously (not just the modest bump ep 2 gave it) the only way it's averaging 10k is if it's a strong storefront title, and Amazon is underestimating it. Hidamari is giving off vibes of a drop from last season, and it's never reached 10k before even with three seasons each increasing on the previous (5.9k →8.1k → 8.5k) so I don't expect 10k, much as I'd love that. I'm just hoping it hits at least 7k. Gintama is a bit of an odd one. Will a mostly re-run season hit 10k? If so should I count it? I guess "maybe" and "yes" would be my answers. Even though 2012 has less 10k series, it has a number of 9k series. 5 at the moment, though Accel World and maybe Tari Tari will both drop below that for average. Hyouka may if it abruptly loses this consistency trend. Natsume Shi and DxD are already locked in to 9k+ though.

![]() ![]() TARI TARI ![]() ![]() ![]() *spits* on your "dropped after 6 eps", something! ![]() Nah, joking, pleased to see TT break the 10k barrier. Maybe the ticket thing did affect the sales after all, but I guess we'll have to wait for the monthly sales data from vol. 2 before judging that. Also, the sick sales for Horizon franchise continues! Magi could be a chance to sell 10k+, it's pretty much Ao No Exorcist 2012, same time slot and the manga is flying out the stores just like AnE did. I'm pretty sure Shogakukan wanted A-1/Aniplex to make Magi a massive hit just like they did for Shueisha's Ao no Exorcist last year.
Top 50 Oricon Rankings (08/10 - 14/10) 19. Magi #1 (33,996 / 261,777) 22. Magi #2 (31,962 / 240,495) 23. Magi #3 (30,048 / 233,760) 26. Magi #4 (28,293 / 225,328) 27. Magi #5 (26,358 / 217,520) 29. Magi #14 (24,882 / 208,580) 31. Magi #6 (24,468 / 210,120) 35. Magi #7 (23,037 / 207,345) 37. Magi #8 (21,828 / 210,582) 38. Magi #9 (20,552 / 214,901) 41. Magi #10 (19,686 / 215,210) 43. Magi #13 (18,783 / 228,775) 44. Magi #11 (18,647 / 219,751) 46. Magi #12 (18,436 / 234,645) Should sell 10k really... AnE did 12k, Kuroko is over 20k, they appeal to the same demographics as Magi.

K is definitely looking set to be sales disappointment of the season, if Amazon is at all representative. It seems like it's got a pretty solid budget and all, but on both DVD and BD nobody is really having anything to do with it - even though it comes out fairly soon (early November). Could be a major storefront title though, which could raise sales a good bit.
