So the most expensive by episode is the ONA... I wonder how many copies they will sell... I hope it will be on TV next season.

Default Stalker counting change

Looks like Amazon Stalker has changed something again about BD preorders, here's the comparison between the preorders of still unreleased titles from several days ago and now:
SAO: 36,120 -> 33,885
Ebiten: 260 -> 416
Natsuyuki Rendezvous: 412 -> 615
Kokoro Connect: 2,470 -> 2,964

Less weight on major hits, more on lower ranking shows. Probably something it needed.

I can see Magi becoming a good seller, it's ranking on the same level between blu ray and dvd.

Can't wait to see SAO sales. I'm hoping to see +30k on the first week.

Yeah the immediate feeling I got from it after seeing DVD and BD ranking virtually the same was "Hey looks like KuroBas."

Even after being adjusted down more than 2k, I expect Stalker is still overestimating. I'd say less than 30k BDs, but DVDs have over 5k points and I have a feeling that's a lot more accurate. So 30k first week seems quite doable.

Yeah I'd say the total for the BDs on stalker right now will be about the actual combined total between BD and DVD, if not a little lower.

Oh I keep forgetting about that, since it's taking forever to get solicited. But yes, 2ch has that predicted for over 10k and that seems quite probable to me. Only question is if it holds consistent or has massive drops like AoEx or D.Gray-man. But with a high enough first few vols, even dropping below 10k for most of the run can still get a 10k average.
Even adding Magi (+SAO) that would only make 6 shows over 10k this year, quite a drop from the last few.

2008 - 13
2009 - 11
2010 - 11
2011 - 15
2012 - 4

A-1 is also on track to beat Sunrise by next year... right now.

Breakdown by studio:
Sunrise - 14
Kyoto Animation - 10
A1 Pictures - 9

A-1 goes above KyoAni with 11 shows over 10k once you factor in SAO + Magi. That will definitely go to 12 with OreNo 2 next Spring... Uta no Prince-sama 2 is also in that season... their winter shows in Vivid Red and Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru could be more potential 10kers.

A-1 could easily put out second seasons of Sword Art and Magi Fall 2013 or Spring 2014, more than enough source material....

I know I'm way, way late to commenting on this, but holy hell that's amazing. I didn't really expect a Kumeta anime to do decently ever again, but this is a great start.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei kinda dropped like a rock as the seasons progressed, the BD-Boxes did alright, the Katte ni Kaizo OVA's did something like 3k iirc and to see Joshiraku do 4k first week is really awesome. I did notice this series had a ton of coverage from Japanese blogs as episodes aired, and it seems like it did better than I thought it would.

Hopefully it keeps this up. I doubt a second season will happen but I'd like this to do well regardless.

At least it's a little more... I hope the BD only episodes will sell better at least... And yeah, I hope they still underestimated this one.

Another slow week. I saw that Yuru Yuri♪♪ v1 ranked in one of the daily listings so I hoped it might have squeezed in and filled in a nuumber of missing weeks like Tari Tari, but no such luck. Thresholds are slightly higher today.
Yuru Yuru♪♪ and Jintai stay strong. They still have event ticket applications in these volumes, but I have to imagine the first volume would be expected to have the bigger boost.
Once again no formal full week list posted anywhere, but it doesn't look like anything would have been added anyway.

Summer update:
Natsuyuki v1 sells 302 BDs, DVDs don't rank. No surprise there. Well maybe a slight surprise it sold more BDs than DVDs.

Yuru Yuri♪♪ v2 sells 6018/1143, total 7,161, only 7.3% down on v1. The first three volumes have event ticket applications so we might see a bigger drop by v4. Perhaps most importantly, 7,161 is only 102 copies below v2wk1 of the first season. That's a very very good sign.

Jintai v2 sells 4260/723, total 4,983. Actually up 2.2% on v1wk1. I think this one still had an event ticket application in v2, but going up is really good. Now if only we can get more than one week in the monthly rankings this time.

Spring update:
Saki Achiga v5 sells 4162/373, total 4,535. That's the exact same number of BDs it sold for v3wk1, though 4.9% less than v4wk1. It should pass 5k eventually, especially with DVDs slipping in this week thanks to low thresholds.

Sakamichi v4, final volume, sells 1587/459, total 2,046. Final average: 2,304.

Zetman v5 continues to be an absolute bomb with 356 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

Past seasons:
none

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Aratanaru Sekai BD Box sells 1,730. Stalker overestimated this one by basically double, at 3,357.

Next week, Sword Art Online and Kokoro Connect. Two weeks after that, Fall starts already with K, though it won't continue for a week weeks after that.
